Envoy Questions
Hello, I have a few questions regarding Envoy.
1) How.much is the envoy medical plan for a family of 4 ? 2) What airplane is going to be based @ MIA ? 3) How is the commute from South Florida to the other Envoy bases , if MiA is not avaliable? Thanks |

The insurance options that everyone is speaking to on these threads, is this AAG insurance, or Envoy specific?

Thanks PPO750: $480.69 PPO1500: $333.64 PPO2500: $261.55 Dental: $23.72 Eyes: $14.96 2)ERJ145 3)There's basically flights every 1 or 2 hours to every base, but, commuting from MIA to DFW it may be a little tricky because there's a lot of people commuting, especially AA pilots that will get the jumpseat. I'm 100% sure that you'll get LGA or MIA, and commuting to LGA you have options to fly to LGA, EWR or JFK. |

Is MIA-DFW all mainline? I thought Envoy pilots had first dibs on their own jump seats?

It's all AA. You can get creative and do MIA-PNS-DFW and depending on the time and day of the week that would be Envoy on both legs. But that would start to suck very quickly.

All AAG pilots are on a level playing field. 30 year AA Capt has no privilege over an Envoy new hire. Whoever signs in first gets the jump seat or seat in the cabin.

AA guys have priority on their on their own metal, Envoy pilots on their metal. Been bumped by AA jump seater 15 minutes before departure.

1. Should MIA remain a strong possibility for new hires in the next few months or has the initial placement at the opening bid taken all the slots?
2. If I don't require health insurance (wife has excellent plan) is there an option to take the company's portion as pay? (Long shot but worth a try to cushion a healthy pay cut) |
1) That's very difficult to predict. But with the movement here you'll get there sometime on the 145. But yes, all FO MIA positions were filled.
2) I even think you know how laughable that question is. |

Damn please know what you are talking about before you open your mouth. This is totally incorrect.
Correction noted. |

Time to double up on your meds. Calm down....innocent mistake. I've been told this several times and never bumped in my 8 months here so no personal experience to verify.
Correction noted. Side note you can bump an AA pilot on Envoy metal. |

Random question
If you're an Envoy pilot would it be possible to take a month or more off without pay?
If so what would you have to do? I have parents that are not doing so well. My siblings and I are taking turns with their care. I also want to spend as much quality time with them as I can while it lasts. Please don't bash me for asking this. |

Despite some of the venomous snakes on here, a vast majority of the pilots at Envoy are good people with our own families. All the best in this challenging time. It's not as tragic as it sounds. I spend way more time at home than I ever did working a 9-5...just coming home to "sleep in your own bed" loses its appeal really quick. As does sitting in bumper to bumper traffic two times a day, 5 days a week for the rest of your life. No thanks.

I now go to work and leave work behind when I get home. I bid reserve if I want to be at home more, and it works most of the time. It is very rare that i'll be away for 5 days all the time. It happens, but is not really that often. Sometimes they call me for an overnight and im done by 7 am the next day. If I need specific days off, I bid a hard line, trip trade and 90% of the time I get what I need. We have visited more than 10 different countries thanks to our flight benefits. It is cheaper for us to spend a weekend in Paris than renting a cabin by a lake in Texas. After 3 years, I still love this job and have no regrets. |
