CRJ or ERJ

I'm on old guy, late 40s, but new to this industry. RTP guy. Originally thought I was most likely a shoe in for 175s because of my age. Now that it's been decided that we are third class citizens, that is no longer the case. Looking at 145s or CRJ. Looking for Pros and Cons of each.

3...2...1...GO!

If you pick CRJ you will be based at ORD until you upgrade. FO's can change bases, but not metal. Since the only CRJ base is ORD...
To clarify, I'm not an Envoy pilot but we were told this during the interview.

145 is the obvious choice. It's in every base, it's not going anywhere, reserve time on it is super short. Movement is really quick if you want Dallas or Miami. When they open the next base it will probably be a 145 base first. It just makes sense. I'd take it over the 175 at the moment.

Is the reserve time longer on CRJ than 145?

What happens to CRJ FOs if/when the aircraft are transferred?

Yes, it's a shrinking fleet. Thus far nothing has happened to the FOs. They are still hiring into that fleet at a low rate. But every month there will be less lines. Eventually they my get displaced, upgrade might happen first.

How short is super short .. especially compared to the E175 . . assume DFW for both?

Is it just me or does anyone else get annoyed when people are concerned what reserve times are?

Reserve times are going to be subject to new hires after you get hired. Since we are hiring at record numbers then reserve times will be extremely short.

Erroneous, the 145 will slowly go away and will be replaced with the far superior 175 to have an all E175 fleet at Envoy. This is exciting as you will be better prepared for when you flow to AA

DFW has the longest reserves in the system for both airframes. Like 5 ish months on the 145
