Crew Outfitters Uniforms?
 

Are the uniforms at crew outfitters (or anywhere other than twin hill) acceptable?

Basically what I'm trying to figure out is, how can uniform items be replaced quickly (stains, tears, lost, etc.) Without waiting on twin hill to ship it out? Preferably a physical location one could just go to and purchase?

From what I’ve seen there the items that comply are the jackets and epaulets. The sweaters cater to Mesa. Not sure if they sell the trousers or shirts, haven’t looked. But the shirts seem generic enough, a lot of us get them elsewhere anyways.

A Cut Above can overnight ship (if you want to pay for that) uniform color trousers hemmed to your needs, in addition to shirts. Higher quality and better fit than the issue anyway.

The book says that only Twin Hill issue is acceptable, so take that for what it’s worth.

Twin hill shirts messed up my neck, I got a rash from those.

I agree, they destroy my neck. Is it too late to get the new alternative uniform shirts for free?

What are you all doing for shoes, any recommendations that comply?

Ecco Helsinki, cost 150 but theyve hardly shown any wear in just under a year. Soles are still in great condition. No metal shanks so you can keep em on thru non kcm entries. Only downfall so far, and possible with most shoes/boots is glycol makes em slippery in the cockpit.

Get whatever your favorite brand is, just look for the "airport compliant" sticker on the box. That means that they do not have metal shanks that set off the metal detectors. As for soles, if you want to spring for it, take the shoes to a local cobbler shop and have them resoled with non-slip vibram soles with construction boot treads. This will run you about $60. I had a pair of Rockports that cane with a soft rubber dress sole. They wore down slick in about 6 months. I had them resoled with Vibram non-slip construction soles over 2 years ago, and they barely show any wear.
