2017 Earnings
I saw this in another thread and thought it would be interesting to see how things stack up for envoy. Also gives a good chance to compare actual CA earnings compared to year one FOs who received the large bonuses.
Just post your seat/earnings. FO/ 71k |

F/O 50k with 3 sign on recruits and a little OT. My new hire bonus from 2016 was on that 2016 tax form. With out the recruiting subtract about 12 grand. So subtotal of 38,000. That’s what second year Fo’s have to look forward too

No, at least I don’t think so.. I just took it straight from my w-2. It’s including the quarterly retention bonuses and one referral. |
Hired April 2016. Box 1 of my 2017 W2 is $51.5k. Plus a little over 6 grand in per diem. No referrals, precisely zero OT.

How do I do this? Went to class Feb 27, with bonus and all mine says 50.7.
I’m sure the one referral bumped it up a bit. But the rest was on year 4 pay with about 10-15 hours OT each month. |
Line holder for all of 2017, commuter, flew my schedule minus 2 segments. No OT, sign on bonus was in 2016, no referrals in 2017 and no retention bonus this year because of the creative structure of how it’s paid out. W2 Box 1.... $31.1 K. I realize flying is a dream for many including me but I’ve burned through $8k in savings to supplement my pay. If you live in base you can pick up OT and make the situation a lot better otherwise....

Bonus was included in 2016 taxes. 2 months reserve. W2 box #1... 40112

Yeah this almost exactly for me as well. Missed the retention bonus by 1 day and the cynical side of me can’t help but think that was intentional by the company.

110k including per diem
Jan-May on step 6 FO pay plus the rentention bonus payments and the 5k in Jan from the 12,500 contact signing. Usually 85-90 hours a month with OT. Step 7 CA, GSW based from June-Dec. Down to 8 days off every month (voluntary), 110-120 hours a month, and home every night |

Ouch. Is this pretty typical?
Min guarantee of 72 hours @ 37.90 = $32,745 Per Diem (using 250hrs/mo. at 1.85) = $5,550 FO retention = $10,000 No OT = $0 Total = $48,295 |

Conservative example for 2017:

You’ll most likely spend most of the per diem on food and nescessities so I wouldn’t plan on that being extra income. |

Sorry that's not "conservative." He specifically stated he was ineligible for the retention bonus.
Also, per diem is NOT wages. Sure one can spend per diem however one wishes, but per diem is a reimbursement for expenses, not wages. Fight it all you want. The “typical” person makes more than $31k. And yes, per diem is a part of compensation. Or shall we have the company take it away in the next contract since it isn’t a wage. You are spending money that the company is then reimbursing, which means that no matter how you slice it that is a form of income. You are literally trying to make this job sound worse than it is, which is pretty much all that happens on APC. |

For a “typical” person...it absolutely is. Maybe not for his particular situation, but the next poster asked if that was “typical”. Besides, how is someone not eligible for retention bonus? Upgraded to CA perhaps? Great...then their hourly wage now makes up the difference.

Per Diem is not income. It is an employer reembursement to cover job related expenses that would otherwise reduce your income.

If you’re smart, a one-time investment in a cooler bag and a few other supplies with a weekly grocery trip and a little prep time can have you pocketing 80-90% of that though. Not trying to argue that it should be considered income, but there are some of us that essentially do turn it into that.
This x10. Plus you won't have to deal with eating like sh*t on the road. |

I really need to start doing this. I have the bag, just been to damn lazy to figure out how I want to do it.
You can make a fortnights worth of food and seal them and freeze them super easy and just grab a few and throw them in your food bag as you roll out the door. |

Go on Amazon and get yourself a kitchenboss brand of vacuum sealing machine, and get a couple of generic rolls of vacuum bags.

Nicely put. I’m burning through my savings now to get to my 1500. It’s a sacrifice for now and hopefully payoff in the near future. |
