Flow to AA

As someone that has the goal of working at AA, I am hoping to ask a couple of questions since a direct flow to my major of choice seems like a great opportunity.

I have read a bunch of posts about "flow violations" and things like that, but since I don't work at Envoy, I don't know what is true. Is there any truth behind the flow violation claims?

Also, on Envoy's APC profile it says, "At this point in time, new hires should expect to flow in 9 years and increasing". Is this true? Would it really take nearly 10 years to flow to AA?

Thanks in advance for any insight you might have.

You'll find a lot of company bashers on this site. In a nutshell, the flow is working as projected and I would not expect to spend 9 years waiting to get to AA. You'll find yourself at AA much, much sooner.

In short, depending on how you decipher the contract, yes the flow is being violated in the pilot/union's eyes and not from a company stand point. It's under grievance right now.

Yes, a new hire today is looking at 10 years to flow. Probably more to be honest. And that is barring no major industry shockwaves.

You are fake news.

Try not to listen to this guy, he is Andy, works in the CP office, and is RW dog. We have roughly 2225 pilots, 25 pilots a month flow. Flow usually happens 10 months of the year. So if you divide 2225 by 250 you get 8.9 years.

That’s not correct math. The flow does not stay at 25/mo. It soon reduces to 15/mo and then a formula that will be ~15-20/mo.

Yesss. You can bet every last penny of your bonus that the flow will be kept as low as can possibly be construed from the language in the contract. 15/month is going to happen.

So here is the deal. If EVERYONE on property minus the current lifers took the flow AND AA hires every month then your flow will be 10ish years. Neither are likely to happen so the "projected" flow times are completely crap. The statement, "The flow is working as projected." means absolutely nothing. Whose projections? Is it contractual? We projected to flow in October and December but we didn't. Oppps. Honestly you will likely in my best guess flow in under 7 years. And that's a huge guess. I think attrition will have a huge impact on those numbers.

The union has a grievance on flow violations. It's goal is to restore contractual flow and retroactively change AA seniority for harmed pilots.

Any idea when this grievance is supposed to be settled?
