Question Pick crew base? is this true?

I interviewed with the Envoy recruiters a few months ago. They told me that I could pick either my base or my equipment if I were hired as a cadet?

Is that true or just made up? I would pick MIA but if I get hired as a cadet, what is the likely track in terms of base that I will get if I want to go to MIA but do not get it initially?

On the first day of training they will offer to the whole class base and equipment options. I don't believe MIA has been offered in training, it's mostly ORD/LGA 145, DFW/ORD 175 and ORD CRJ.

People pick in the following order: Pipeline cadets, pilots with enough prior 121 time to upgrade, and finally everyone else. I believe within each group it goes by age, but I could be wrong.

So if I choose DFW for example, about how long would it be before I could switch bases to MIA?

Cadets have first pick, then prior 121 by the number of 121 hours they have, then everyone else by age, oldest first.

Cadets pick first. You can transfer to MIA whenever your seniority can hold it. But E145 because the 175 is only DFW/ORD.

Good luck and welcome to Eagle!

How fast are people holding MIA on the FO side? Idk if it’d be worth being in base for three months only to upgrade to LGA. If those are my options, I’d pick 175 DFW and upgrade to 145 LGA and wait to hold MIA on the CA side. My thought process off any?

175 DFW hasn’t been offered in six or seven months. The first guys from ORD that bid back to DFW from the March bid won’t see it until August.

145 DFW hasn’t been offered in more than a year. It is taking close to the same amount of time as 175s that were LGA or ORD 145 initial hires to get to DFW as well. (Seniority, open bid, and then actually transfer)

Is there any current info on 175 reserve wait times? I just selected 175 ORD but would like to go to DFW. Last I heard (last year) was that reserve in ORD was 1-2 months and in DFW you were to expect about 8 months reserve.
