LOL. $4K is more than what a captain brings home on reserve. Hold a line, fly OT and maybe break $5k with per diem. Family on the company health insurance? Don’t even dream of it.

Try selling on eBay. We do about 1k a month gross, maybe 5-6 hundred net, flipping things we pick up at Goodwills, garage sales, etc. Mind you, that is with very little work. If we really upped our game the returns are infinite. See Craigslist Hunter on YouTube when you have 5 minutes to burn.
There is very little startup costs and it can easily be managed with our schedules. I always choose 3 day handling times so it doesn’t screw over shipping timelines with my trips.
Good luck!
Edit> Being a cheap pilot has made sourcing supplies so easy.
Boxes-Walmart on stocking day
Paper and bubble wrap- amazon orders and behind most major stores
Inventory- Craigslist, Facebook, Goodwill, Salvation Army, garage sales

I never said it's the norm. I said it's possible. It was Varsity who said it was Bull and no FO takes home that.

Lol you did act like it's the norm
"I'm a new FO and I take home 4000+ a month. Sorry, we all know you are a troll account, but if you can't live off 4k, you're doing something wrong."
To anyone reading that you make it sound like it is the norm and anyone can do it. But really it's you being inconsiderate putting down FOs for doing side jobs to make ends meet because they don't live in base and can't pick up 20 hours of critical OT.

You know Dera, its possible to make more than that as an FO if you get lucky, work your ass off, live in base and are never home. You need to learn to read the tone of the message. We are talking about what a normal FO working the line can reasonably expect to make. You know that, we know that, yet you felt this uncontrollable need to defend the company and the ability to make more. Why?

What’s your average credit?
I know some FOs that can do really well working the system. Especially those that try to get their trips dropped for IOE. Some FOs just work down to 8 days off a month. I doubt you average 4K a month but I don’t think it’s crazy to say you make 4K a month occasionally or have made 4K over the past few months.

All jokes aside, if the OP is still listening... If you live in base and have the time, maybe consider becoming a realtor. It's not pricey to get the certs you need most places, and your success is mostly based on your own skill development and what you put into it. It's a serious backup plan if you lose your med/license too.
