Endeavor Skywest or Envoy
#1
I am about 2 months from ATP minimums. So i was paying close attention to these forums a few months ago but for the last couple months was too busy to keep up. From what I understand Envoy now has new pay rates. I have seen the FO ones but is there an updated Capt pay scale anywhere? In addition I’d like Dallas and I am a cadet. Is the 175 DFW and Ord still short reserve? I was looking at Skywest but their class dates are well into May of next year. I am still going to interview there. And I have been considering Endeavor since if I’m stuck commuting I might had well go where the money is. I know their reserve is 12 months in NYC. I’m trying to catch up on all that has happened at Envoy over the last 6 months. Now that I’m close to minimums I’m trying to make up my mind. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Where do you live? Endeavor is the best company of the 3, but if you live in Dallas then it's better to be able to drive to work. Even if you have to commute initially or when you upgrade for a temporary amount of time, it beats not having the option at all.

If you want Dallas, it’s currently what I believe to be 5-6 months. It is a moving target as I’m sure you know but that is how it stands as far as I know.
We’re taking more deliveries of the 175 which means quicker movement, we are siphoning off 145’s which means slower movement. HOWEVER, if your on the 145 you will be able to upgrade with no problem. Most 175 guys/gals are coasting their hours to ensure that they get the same aircraft upon upgrade so they don’t have to be PIC in an unfamiliar aircraft.
With that being said in my opinion, if you get the 175 that will coincide with the positive changes this company has been making whilst the 145 seems to represent the darker side of the company with the wrath of bad schedules attached to it. But you’ll get that at SKW or END with the 200.
If your a cadet you have a great shot for the 175 but if you get the 145 you could potentially upgrade faster than 175 pilots depending on base (ORD and LGA are super junior compared to DFW and MIA) but you can always temporarily commute to those if you wanna stay in DFW. That base is not going anywhere

You can upgrade at the same time regardless of what plane you get as an FO.
If you want to upgrade in the same plane it might be quicker in the 145.
As to the OP. If DFW is your preferred base ENY seems like a good choice. This industry is such a roller coaster I’d pick a company I’m fairly certain will always have the base I want. All the other stuff will change at least a dozen times in the next decade.

One minor correction:

If you want to upgrade in the same plane it might be quicker in the 145.

Thanks I thought I might have missed something!
