New hire training

Which hotel are they putting new hires in while training? How long is the training footprint and are there any current training backlogs? Does Envoy do all training in house at DFW? I know there are 145 sims in HOU and 175 in STL but was unsure if those are ever used?

Right now its the XXX in Bedford for ATP/CTP and is about to be for sims, which is good because they have free breakfast.

INDOC, systems, and IPT/CPTs are at XXX.

Non ATP it’s:

1 week ATP/CTP
1 week INDOC
4 weeks CBTs, systems, IPT/CPTS
2 weeks sim/MV/LOE

A few 3-5 day breaks in there.

Lately the 175s have been in STL a lot, but the 145s have been in Dallas at either AA or Flight Safety

Thank you. Do you know if new hire sim sessions run all night? Quality of training at Envoy?

Sims can be pretty much anytime. They don’t quite run 24/7 because there is some scheduled down time for inspections and maintenance, but there are some very late/really early periods.

If you put in the effort and have a good attitude you will get through. But you won’t be spoon fed. It is quite the firehose. But some instructors are better than others. One literally had us reading the manual out loud in class. Many of the instructors have never flown the airplane they are teaching. If you’re lucky they will have at least flown it somewhere. Some classroom instructors don’t even have commercial ratings. The final procedure training periods and final sim periods are taught by Envoy qualified line pilots.

Yes, I did. In a round about way. I left the industry entirely for 5 years.

They are some of the best pilots/captains we have.

Given then general tenor of your posts, I’m guessing that is sarcasm?

I may be wrong.

Most of them are solid guys.

Some of the most experienced junior captains you fly with here on the 145 are former XJT.

It’s not at all. The Xjet pilots bring years or decades of experience our pilots don’t have. This includes dealing with regional airline antics,

Uh huh
While we are at it, when on reserve:
1. Block in
2. HI3
3. Screenshot
4. DONE. No waiting 15 minutes for CS to tag more stuff on you.

If you did a turn in theory you can be put back into rap afterwards, you'd get an hi6 about it, yes.

Except that wouldn’t be 117 compliant.

I think you mean back to standby

12.E.6.b reads

A reserve pilot on RAP who has been called out for a flight
assignment ending that same day may also utilize this method
for release, but must also check his HI6 to determine his status
(returned to RAP or released to rest; the default is “released to
rest” if no HI6 is received).

Hence the requirement to check your hi6

PS Even with my lengthy tenure on the CRJ I've never seen that. Which is not to say that doesn't exist

I thought I only had to do that once a day, time my discretion, aka a screenshot when I make up at 5 am would suffice???

Which leaves just HI3?

Incorrect. The contract stipulates that you must check both your HI3/HI6 in order to be released from any further RSV RAs.

Checking it once a day is for linehokders, reserve is at the end of your sequence to check for reassignment.

Only if they were on a RAP that day
