Well what about commuters and those with small kids? Not to mention there are no tests that work fast, so you are looking at a minimum of 24 hours.

Sorry I was mostly being facetious. It's just an awful situation and Envoy doesn't even want to act like they have our best interests on their radar.

I mean if you don't come into contact with immunocompromised/elderly folks regularly and you don't have much else that needs tending to in the near future why not just go to work and get tested at the end of each trip (assuming you can find a free or cheap location near home). Once you get sick (and you will), take the two weeks paid leave and play Xbox. Maybe by the end of the two weeks enough damage will have been done that we get some action.

I can't believe Envoy's response here is "go to work until you get sick, peasants".

according to WHO:
Most estimates of the incubation period for COVID-19 range from 1-14 days, most commonly around five days.”

Yeah it's actually pretty shocking, idk why though. Guess it's been too long since I was on reserve on the 145, starting to forget how much contempt they have for us.

I hope AA doesn’t get a bailout. The vast majority of their free cash flow (billions) went to stock buy backs. The company needs to go into BK, the BOD fired, and bring in new leadership.

Also, if any of you think we’re going to come out of this unscathed, you better adjust your thinking and expectation management. Prepare for pay cuts, the ‘f’ word, displacements/downgrades, etc.

United just announced they’re cutting 60% capacity. Delta is down 40% and reevaluating demand daily. American is still assessing damage and the axe is about to drop.

Isn't that the entire point of the union? If they are impotent then why even bother having them around?

Our union is for "show" at best. I had made a post the day before, but it was stealthily deleted with no notice given. The union at our level is here to collect money from us and feed it up the ALPA food chain. The union always acts like it matters but really nothing ever gets done until management wanted it done anyway. The reps are to afraid of any repercussions to actually stand up to the company, so it just becomes an act.

I used to believe in the union, but not anymore as I have seen time and time again they have no teeth or lack the will to use them. Unfortunate really. Also, before anyone jumps down my throat, I understand the RLA, I have volunterreed and I can understand the fear of repercussion, but its because of these that I accept our money given is just to feed the mainline unions legal efforts.

The other crappy thing is that while we are an AA wholly owned, we are a separate union so they have zero incentive to take care of us from above.

The power of unions comes from withholding labor. It is currently illegal to do that.
