You clearly don't understand how the system works.
The problem is not the pump, the problem are the MAUs.
The residual pressure would still actuate the brakes and steering for that moment before the buses boot back up again. Do a flight control check with no HYD 2 pump on (say, you've been sitting there for 6 minutes with parking brake off). You will see what I mean by the residual pressure. The issue is, that the MAUs processing the signal from the tiller and brake pedals are shut down, and they do absolutely nothing during that time.
It is not about pressure, it is about the MAUs being shut down because they are not powered by AC ESS BUS.
You see the message you quoted was my reply to a guy referring to the Republic SOPs and how they would would prevent this, and I was saying it does nothing because no matter where your switches are (which is the RAH way to do things), you still will not have any brakes or steering.

Now will you please go back and talk with the folks that work with where ever you fly now about your vast knowledge of the 737 which you claim to know better than the people who designed it?

What’s the “safety and security” concern at PVD (old textile mill) that drove the hotel change? No end date. thought it was nice place and area. Jet Blue stays there, can’t be that bad.
Yet I’ve complained through formal channels ( API and Union) about cars getting vandalized and apparent drug deals/ wreaks of pot at DFW LQ training hotel, no change at all. It’s resolved since hotel had a response for all concerns.
must be egregious or they just use that as an excuse to change when they see fit.

Any particular idea as to why? Is the blizzard causing it? Personally, I am fine with it as I think I am in a minority of people that actually hate that hotel. The NYLO was nice when we first went there but I feel it has lost its luster over the last couple of years.

Homeless people flooded the DFW DT during the hurricanes and it was a disaster. The front desk lady said 1/3 of their rooms were taken out of service for maintenance. They even disassembled and stole some of the bed frames.
