New Hire Orientation Day

New Hire Orientation Day
Can any one explain what happens on the new hire orientation day?
It seems like they are having people sign in for a day then sending people home wait for training... does anyone know how long people are waiting for a class?
Does seniority start that day? Travel benefits? KCM?
Any clarification would be appreciated... thanks

Yup
That’s it bud. It’s the smartest thing that Envoy or any airline has done since the virus. When I was hired last year they put me on payroll and started the onboarding that day. I was sent home for a month until they could get me a class date. In that month I signed up for the insurance and 401k contributions that worked for me. I did all of the EO and electronic classes. Most importantly, I sent replies to Skywest, Endeavor, and a local medivac company that I appreciated them scheduling me a class date but I was already a pilot at Envoy. I got a class date 1 month and 1 week from my hire date. My seniority and pay started on the date of hire

“PHOENIX PILOT BASE
To support Envoy regional flying out of American’s Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) hub, we’re pleased to announce our plans to open a new pilot base at PHX. I know that the next question is when. We anticipate that flying for PHX will begin as early as December of this year. Initially it will be a small amount of flying which we will be able to support through our DFW pilot base, similarly to how we support our Austin (AUS) operation today. However, unlike AUS, PHX flying will continue to grow and we will be opening a system-wide bid for the new pilot base, exact timing yet to be determined.“

I have certainly heard of plenty who left that were given repayment information about paying back the retention bonus, but none who were actually sued yet. If you accept a bonus, from any company, YOU are making a contractual promise on what those terms were to accept it. If you don’t honor those terms as presented, then you should expect to repay it.
As far as promises kept, he five year flow was certainly highly advertised and talked up, but was certainly never PROMISED. Certainly never contractually in any form. And before you go off, I’m the one you quoted on another thread about what to realistically expect and pumping up pay to 20 year scale if you haven’t flowed at five years was wildly beyond what anyone expected.

Seems to be the case. Seen a few people on the reserve list showing up significantly later than the whole class because of ML popping up with relatively decent seniority.
