Let's clear that up. This is a payout for the amendment round bonus we would have already gotten. People are calling it a bribe or a signing bonus, it's not either of those. If people here think it's a bonus for signing, they're not too bright, especially if they thought it was a good reason to sign for.

thats what the recruiters are calling it

I don't know what the recruiters are talking about, no new hire gets the payout.

Also, the signing payout likely worked against us as well. If people have a way out and they know they'll get a large sum, they'll vote yes, take the money and run. No reason to vote no, because then you don't get the cash. If the company was smart they would have metered the payout over a year, half each 6 months. That would've lowered the tax burden and made people stick around.

Nope. Short sighted, as usual.

i guess im speaking from things i witnessed about 10 monthes ago, saw them at the bar when they were up in GFK and thats all they could talk about when they heard my friends and i were CFI's

There was/is a new hire signing bonus unrelated to the contract signing payout. Maybe that's what they were talking about.

Hence why I said I wouldnt recommend either but if i had the choice I would take RAH. At they are still in negotiations to possibly...hence possibly to get a better contract. Envoy is stuck with their **** contract that they sold out for.

Do they also have a poster of an AA 787 cockpit on the wall behind them to mesmerize the tender young pups wandering into the interview room at Envoy ?

Slick salesmen will tell any story, fable or fantasy to lure in the emotionally intoxicated.

lol, they werent as a bad as the Great Lakes guys, they were on the offensive going up to guys asking to see their resumes whether the person was interested or not, it was pathetic. They had also gone into classrooms, talked about how their company "kinda sucks but that we should all still apply there". It was baffling to say the least. Envoy just bragged about the 10k.

Yes, management has been waving payoffs at pilots for years getting to look no further. Sadly, it usually works, I guess not this time though.

2000pilots x $12,500 = 25 mill. The "credit" was slated to be worth 36 mill in contract improvements to make this a better place. The union agreed to say they were monetizing the credit but skimmed over the amount disparity. It was a bribe. Simple as that

Was that amount for captains with F/O's only getting $7500' many of which will be gone soon ?

I'd say the true value was substantially less.

Ca is 12,500
FOs 7,500 and 5,000 when they upgrade or in jan 2017, whichever occurs first.

It wasn't necessarily 36 million; there were conditions attached, and there was some debate as to whether the credit might be valued much lower in 2016.

Regardless, there is no defense for our new contract. Eagle has become a bottom feeder with one of the worst contracts, plain and simple. The drunk bullies became very effective at what they do. It appears as if Eagle will continue to implode.

Kind of off topic, does anyone have the number for bidpro? Been trying to cancel since November.
