Envoy/AAG/ALPA pay negotiations

Rumor has it ALPA and envoy/AAG management are in the process of trying to negotiate retention bonuses in hopes of stopping the massive amount of blood loss at envoy due to attrition. Hearing that they will be in the ball park of $20,000 with different stipulations for FOs and CAs with some time specific intervals based on longevity, seniority, flow, upgrade etc,.

ALPA has expressed interest in a 5 year buyout option for CAs maxed out at 18 years at different ages decreasing the yearly buyouts as the target ages. Basically, the older you are the less will be offered due to your limited time left on the seniority list. The company has of course countered with significantly less, somewhere in the two year range.

BS flag on the play. No source, player spread eagle. 5 internet penalty, still 4th down.

Why would they want to retain people if they are getting rid of all the crjs and a lot of the small embraers?

If I was there and wanted to work for AA I'd bail.

Why would alpa get involved in pilots leaving one alpa carrier for another? Why even care at this point. Envoys wants to give retirement buyouts, that's there prerogative, I don't see alpa needing to be involved.

Because they don't collect dues on the frst year at the new carrier and then less than if they stayed at the original carrier and collected a bonus!

Retirement buyouts is one way of creating some senirity movement while also lowering the ongoing overall operational cost and may work to attract some new people, or at least retain some.

I know it sucks for those living it, but I always get giddy when I see management screw up so badly like this and the operation goes to hell. Hilarious.

FWIW I'm laughing at Delta's screw up with Endeavor as well.

They are about a decade late trying to squeeze the commuters, there's a lot less pilots now coming in at the bottom.

I'm glad someone can laugh about it. Living through it has been pure hell. Just when you think it can't get any worse it does. Month after month year after year. Meanwhile you sit watching good news and growth going on elsewhere.
