Envoy Robocalls

I just got a robocall from CAPTAIN so and so. Very annoying. Anyone else? Isn't this illegal?

Perhaps this is the "big move" rumored to be in the works that everyone's been waiting for ?

Xdashdriver 03-16-2016 01:30 PM

Yup...recording from Ric Wilson. Just got one too.

Just got mine, too.

For all you new guys looking for your first 121 gig... this is INCREDIBLE. Its a great time to be a fresh pilot. Hell, when I got my ticket, the airlines furloughed and i had to CFI for two years before they started to hire again!

EuroMexPilot 03-16-2016 01:35 PM

Got mine too! It's nice to be in such high demand. Certainly this means increased wages and better working rules!

I was curious if it was illegal as well but after looking into it

"Certain entities are except from the restrictions of the Telemarketing Sales Rule (aka “TSR,” “the Rule” or “the Do Not Call list”), the restrictions on prerecorded calls, or both. These include certain prerecorded healthcare messages and some prerecorded messages placed on behalf of a non-profit charitable organization to previous donors. A blanket exemption is held by political organizations, telephone surveyors, and companies that have an existing business relationship with the recipient."

I'm guessing applying for their airline once 4 years ago must be their rationale

Was just about to post about this as well. As said above, it's a good feeling being in such high demand.

Just call back and ask to be placed on their do not call list. Hopefully they get flooded with enough calls of this and they will stop.

Metering 03-16-2016 01:57 PM

I'll save you guys the trouble of calling back:

They are hiring in to the CRJ7 (ord) and the E175 (dfw)

They are estimating roughly 300 captains per year will flow to AA

Roughly another 150 pilots leaves to other carriers per year.

With currently 1800 people on property that translates to about 6 years for flow to AA

1.5 years projected reserve.

2.5 years to upgrade

The bonus is handed to you on date of hire in one lump sum with the taxes already withheld from the check (roughly $10K after taxes)

Is that worth it for you to start at the bottom again? I dunno. Your mileage may vary!

buddies8 03-16-2016 01:58 PM

if everyone does the do not call me list they at aag will have to raise bonuses to every pilot at the w/o's and this will cause a domino effect to the non owned mainline feeders.
