Envoy recruitment question

I wanted to see if I could get some opinions/feedback from current Envoy pilots.

I washed out of Part 121 training in 2008 from another airline. My most current flying job was with ZW in 2014; I flew for them for a year, but had to resign because of some family matters. I've been out of avaition now for 2 years, but am in the process of getting current again.

From what you all know/hear, would I have a fighting chance to possibly get an interview with Envoy, or am I completely wasting everyone's time? I've updated my app on Airline Apps, but I can not get a response from Envoy.

I wanted to be hones about everything, so therefore I put down the past training issue in 2008.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Smutter 04-06-2016 10:48 AM

No one hear can give you that answer, (unless a recruiter is on here). I would try they are somewhat desperate. And as long as it's one fail shod be OK, but I really don't know

AdiosMikeFox 04-06-2016 10:55 AM

You did right by being honest, whatever the result. If ENY found out later it would end badly. Good luck.

Maybe you should acquire your records first yourself so you can see what actually is on them.

FlameNSky 04-06-2016 10:58 AM

Eagle used to have some rather restrictive selection criteria. I do know they have relaxed those restrictions, but I doubt anyone outside of a recruiter would know how much and they will never tell you ( liability ). One only truly fails when they stop trying. Give it your best shot.

Shiner 04-06-2016 11:21 AM

If you can't get a bite, try and get their attention on the Envoy Recruiting Facebook page. I've seen them reply to folks asking them to look over their apps.

And like everyone else said, be honest and own your mistakes, and you should be fine.

They only look back 5 years. I saw none of my training stuff from RAH or CJC when I got my report back from recently being hired at Piedmont. Tell them and I am sure they will understand, especially as desperate as most are. A few things to consider... Why did you wash out of training? Was it your first 121 gig? They will more than likely ask "are you sure you can handle the training?" Just a few things to think about. I used to help conduct interviews and you won't have to dive into every detail of why you washed out, but don't try making lame excuses either!

Bigpimppilot 04-06-2016 02:46 PM

There's always mesa. You could be a street captain there with 1000 prior 121 time.

GodIsGood 04-06-2016 03:47 PM

Have you tried giving them a call or email?

Thanks for all of the input from everyone.

Yes, I sent them an email about a week ago. I believe the email address is [email protected]

I don't have their phone # though.

Look on their Facebook pace for the phone number. "ENVOY pilot recruiting"

What other have said, try their Facebook page. They are really responsive on there if you ask them in a professional manner. Good luck.

I like your honesty. PM your info and I'll conect you with a buddy of mine that is on the recruiting team. I'll be in class with Envoy next month, good luck!

Why bother? After all, one is speaking directly to the Envoy recruiting team whenever someone posts on an Envoy thread.

Dude! I bet you are stoked to be starting class at Envoy!

With your arrogant manner already on display, you are going to be a heck of an asset to the Sales Team here.

You might get lucky and get the mainline 175 right out of the gate! Welcome to the next 15 years of your career.

Bigpimppilot 04-07-2016 03:17 AM

Don't you remember when you were that excited? Give him six months.

Hey now, I'm still that excited after over 4 years. Of course I'm not at Envoy though 😀

Awww!! The Envoy haters!!!
No arrogance here, just trying to help a brother out.

AdiosMikeFox 04-07-2016 04:45 AM

Was that really necessary, ag? He's helping someone out that wants to work here. It's also called getting a recommendation.

Helping people. Try it some time.

AMF, I believe you are correct in this case. It was a bad post. My apologies Superjet.

However, I will say this guy isn't even on property yet and already has the salesy, arrogant demeanor of the Sales guys here.

Eaglepilot84 04-07-2016 05:26 AM

According to ag, if you work at envoy, you better hate your job. Otherwise you're a salesman. Makes perfect sense!

No man, I'm just trying to help someone just the way they did with me. We as fellow pilot should help each other out no matter what our airlines believes are.

Yeah, is not good for us that New Hires are excited to be part of envoy.

Hahahaha oh well...

AdiosMikeFox 04-07-2016 06:40 AM

If a new pilot can read through all the envoy crap on this board and decide that this is where they want to work, great! Help him/her out. If you can hook them up with someone to get inside help, fantastic!

I've taken a look at some of the other regional threads here and they aren't anywhere near as consistently awful as ours are. Its like some can't allow others to make their own decisions even after hearing all sides of the story. It's a shame. We really do have problems here, but nowhere near as earth-shattering as some make it out to be.

Yes and it's ironic that "sammysuperjet" values honesty. I think it's obvious he is a poser here......er, let's make that ANOTHER poser.

Let's look at him and his time line, shall we ?

- A member for 5 years, but no posts until a couple of weeks ago.

Um OK, so he may be a true pilot lurker, but considering the following, I doubt it.

- 3/23 (two weeks ago), he claims to be a new guy who flies cargo and would like to jump to 121 and looking for advice on the best flow of the AAG WO's. Later that day after several glowing reviews from the usual crowd, he will "look into Envoy".

- 3/24 (next day), he confirms he has targeted only Envoy.

I only saw this solicitation for opinions on the AAG flows on ENVOY related or titled threads and not asking PSA or Piedmont pilots via specifically targeting threads from their pilots or discussing such in detail, so hmmmm....

- 3/24 to present, immediately becomes a vehement Envoy defender and co-attacker talking exactly like a long-time Envoy pilot.

On 4/5, he actually used the term "EAGLE hater" and a new guy not even employed there wouldn't have made such a Freudian slip. An older hand who was (is) at Envoy WOULD. He also has quickly adopted a hostile attitude towards the other WO's by demonstration of antagonistic posts on their threads similar to a jackal that bolts from a thicket of bushes foaming at the mouth which is simply uncharacteristic of just a wide-eyed neutral newbie looking for advice with no ruffled fur.

- 4/7 (yesterday), 14 days after claiming he has decided on Envoy, he is scheduled for class which is not enough time in my understanding to complete the interview process and associated hurdles like PRIA background checks and drug testing.

Honesty ?

Please. There is clearly little of that here.

It's clear to me anyway that this forum is filled with posers of questionable veracity and the topic of Envoy unfortunately seems to draw more then its share of strange new characters rapidly popping up claiming to be new, "asking questions" or using some other ruse simply to start yet another faux discussion on the merits of Envoy. Again, if someone truly wants to go there, that's cool as for some it may indeed be the best fit, but I simply cannot ignore what I see to be an aggressive orchestrated campaign by some of questionable motives and "honesty" is lost by many of those here. It's why I always say, "caveat emptor" as if you're a buyer here on this forum (for anything), it's obvious to me you're going to encounter a lot of shifty characters with dark trench coats and down-turned fedoras wanting to sell you something if you'll only follow them into the dark alley of their choosing.

Just my .02........

The problem is that it seems too many who claim to be one thing are almost certainly not that at all.

Me too and why do you think that is ?

I think it is a combination of the fact that pilots (or "others") from other regionals haven't gone on a full-court press to sell and recruit here on this forum and in doing so are using multiple identities and misrepresenting themselves and/or their motives. I don't think Envoy per se is the problem here, it's some of the people who represent it here and the tactics they are using to do that. It's self-inflicted, if you ask me.

So says a SkyWest Pilot. Maybe we should all spend some more time on SkyWest Threads, trashing your company.

Yeah, it's tough being gone from that ****hole. I feel bad for you. You have to be OK with being a "mainline" regional pilot for years to come. Enjoy the management beatings and BS they put you guys through.

There......is......life........after.......ENVOY.

Seriously, Allegiant IS a regional flying a bigger aircraft. There is a reason that there attrition is so high. I wouldn't even wish my worse enemy to work at Allegiant.

LOL... I didn't even think about that. Life after envoy is SO GREAT that he spends all his time coming back to talk about envoy. ag386 and eaglefly should get married. They have so much in common.

Sounds like the exact opposite of what Ag has done since his first appearance here...

Anyone with half a brain can see through the veiled attacks from both sides.

That's for him to defend. Even if true, it doesn't dilute my assertions about what is happening here and only it seems in regard to Envoy. Ultimately, if certain characters from Envoy wouldn't be so eager to sprinkle sugar all over this picnic, they'd have fairly few ants to complain about.

It is a self-inflicted misery for them and counter-productive for Envoy in the long run IMO.

I don't expect you to defend him. He originally showed up saying he was an envoy pilot, talked about his seniority number, and that all turned out to be false. Now he apparently has no qualms about admitting that he is in fact not at envoy. If he had such noble intentions about propagating the truth then I wonder why he lied in the first place. ;)

I disagree on it being 100% self inflicted. I've seen Ag and a few others jump into new threads shouting generic poor sentiments about envoy management, QOL, etc before anyone else has even responded with "salesmanship". The chicken or the egg?...

A battle for the ethical high ground among liars ? LOL ! Only at Envoy.

Well, regardless of that, I would hardly post on Envoy threads if it wasn't for the the sludge from a half dozen on the EST side. AFAIC, at this point you all can sell Envoy until your eyes pop out, I just question dubious claims which then seems to lead to counter-attack from nefarious people. Keep it factual and actually, I'd probably leave from boredom.

Of course, we know that isn't likely in the future, eh ? ;)
