Question for ALL eagle/envoy guys and gals

There has been a lot of talk in the American forum about new hires at mainline. It sounds as though envoy will be 50% of our new pilots. I curious as to the attitude/outlook of these guys. I have been at AA less than five years but have been VERY impressed with all of our newhires. Everyone is engaged, active and interested in changing things for the better. Most of us hired in the last 7 years are "confused" about the senior guys at legacy American.

My question:
Are the legacy eagle guys and gals positive in the outlook for this airline going forward? Are they planning on being a united group at the new airline? There's a growing contingent at American that is looking out for all our pilots (something that seems to have been lost at AA for a long time). There are TONS of retirements in the next 10 years. I think a lot of us are wondering how the main group coming over here looks at things. What do you think of your pilot group?

I can't for say for envoy but it's the psa/pdt guys you're gonna need to keep your eye on. Just going off the first two posts

Personally I'm interested in changing things for the better. However, envoy is absolutely making jaded. We're at an all-time low in employee/management relations over here and it's hard to believe that things will substantially improve over at AA. The common factor is the Parker takeover of AA. I believe that they like to say they're making positive changes when it comes to press releases, town hall meetings, etc. but have no intent on actually making those positive changes. I think that people need to start publicially speaking up about how AA treats its employees (including it's wholly owned subsideraries) because if they don't the current AA management will do nothing but walk all over them.

Thanks eagle. I think a huge majority of you guys (As well as a whole lot of us) have been beat up at the regional level. The culture has taken a down turn since the merger. I think having had that past will make us more conscious voters. I tend to ***** about the things we have lost. On the whole life is a thousand times better here. The flows from our WO I have met seem like stand up people. I hope we are able to shed the past both here and what WO'ed have experienced. I looked at the retirements recently. You guys will be running the show here soon. Hope we all stick together.

My hope is that the flows have a better handle on SCOPE when Parker comes sniffing around for it in a few years. The flows have seen what eroding SCOPE has done to the industry as far as stagnation, and it has been one of the main contributors to the lost decade. It is my hope that living through that will make a lot of voters much more cautious when it comes to seeing dollar signs over airframe size.

I would say that 911, the resession, and the age 65 retirement change were the main contributors to the lost decade
