Skywest Absorbing ASA?

Newest rumor I hear is that Skywest will somehow be absorbing the ASA side of the house in order to keep the operation going and make up for their falling hiring numbers. Story I have said it's already a done deal, with ASA ALPA somehow involved in the process.

Any word of this or is this just another OO ploy to keep things going?

Unlikely. That would probably bring alpa and the existing asa cba to 4500 SKW pilots.

Nope, never gonna happen. They'd put you in the unemployment line before they integrate you with their golden children. Best advice, do what you have to do to get on to a lifeboat somewhere, and don't be the last one out.

Bah ha ha!! Yeah, that one again.

Not a rumor.

I forgot to mention, the absorption would simply be job offers of some sort. No idea about longevity or seniority issues.

Personally, I think it's a company rumor, but who knows? Even my hindsight sucks when it comes to this biz.

This makes no sense at all. There already has been the option to go over there at the bottom with up to 10 years of longevity. That is nothing new.

That isn’t going to keep people here.

They are absorbing our airplanes just fine...nothing to see here. Maybe they Should merge the 3 airlines like they should have done in the beginning instead of ****ing all that money away. Oops

Why? Makes sense to me. They’ll claim a small 700 operation for AMR is too expensive to operate and roll that over to their already large American ops. All the ASA pilots in the mean time slide to ERJs. It seems like a pretty bad business decision to have a different unit operate such a small fleet.
