Skywest Absorbing ASA?
#1
Newest rumor I hear is that Skywest will somehow be absorbing the ASA side of the house in order to keep the operation going and make up for their falling hiring numbers. Story I have said it's already a done deal, with ASA ALPA somehow involved in the process.
Any word of this or is this just another OO ploy to keep things going?

Nope, never gonna happen. They'd put you in the unemployment line before they integrate you with their golden children. Best advice, do what you have to do to get on to a lifeboat somewhere, and don't be the last one out.

Personally, I think it's a company rumor, but who knows? Even my hindsight sucks when it comes to this biz.

Why? Makes sense to me. They’ll claim a small 700 operation for AMR is too expensive to operate and roll that over to their already large American ops. All the ASA pilots in the mean time slide to ERJs. It seems like a pretty bad business decision to have a different unit operate such a small fleet.
