AWESOME 😎

No thx

What’s that type rating worth?

A bit more than a few weeks in the HoJo I bet.

Come on. What has happened sucks, but accept the reality of the situation.

The economy could take a crap tomorrow and no one would be hiring. Get out and get a number. The one you have is worthless.

I run into people all the time who say “I need to work on my app.” I thought that was bad, but it’s not nearly as stupid as “hotel room.”

Ya know what, I had the opportunity a few months ago to interview with Frontier but I had to turn them down. I live 30 minutes from my L-Xjet base, am senior enough that I can get schedule I'm happy with, and make more than I would on reserve at Frontier. I realized that I just couldn't justify the cost of commuting across the country to sit reserve for $39/hr. If they get a new contract and/or a local base, then maybe.

Well go ahead and subsidize their operation. You can rationalize it any way you want. It’s not “hotel room”, but more like 60 plus hotel rooms outta your pocket. May want to inform yourself-there is an ALPA video. People running over there status quo isn’t helping the situation. 30 something an hour on top of you subsidizing their operation by paying for your own lodging for their training is just dumb.

But, mabee expressjet really is that bad.

My bad! Carry on

I’d go to another regional before I’d consider Frontier. There’s no way I’m taking a pay cut for 5 years to fly an Airbus when there are SO many better options.

My sources are saying the big announcement has been delayed a bit. Looks like mid to late June. Expect something pretty big. And yes, it would be wise to stick around.

I have to agree with this. Many are in a comfortable position in the left seat making OK money. However, Expressjet is a dying carrier and continues to contract. I would argue almost anyone at ANY regional today should get out and take charge of your own career.

Frontier will get a new contract. It won't be legacy pay but it will surpass anything XJT offers at least in the 2nd year. Waiting around for them to get it before bailing is allowing double or triple digits in seniority above you. You don't have to make a career out of Frontier but it's still a better place to be stuck than almost any regional carrier.

I bailed from a "good" regional over 4 years ago for NK @ 38.50/hr. It wasn't easy but I am much better off today by taking the hit then than waiting around for something "good" to happen at the regional. NK's new contract isn't the best but now having over 1,000 below me versus waiting and trying to get in after the new NK deal was signed has paid off much more so than anything I could have made at the RJ outfit.

Ditto. Left XJT almost 4 years ago as a junior captain. Now I'm an Airbus captain and I made just shy of 200k last year. I also am almost in the top 33% at my ULCC. I wish I would have made it out sooner. Zero regrets here.
