First system wide bid coming out

Check emails. First joint bid coming out. I guess if you're a REALLY senior ERJ pilot and you REALLY want to fly a CRJ you can bid DFW and hold it until it shuts down in April. TYS ERJ "base" opening this bid effective 1 November.

I dare say after checks are handed out to CRJ pilots around September 17, there will need to be a new Position Notice anyway as many will retire or move on to other jobs.

Some are already punching out. We’re down to about 400 active pilots. My guess is about 200-300 will make the transition to the ERJ.

Of significance, TYS will not be a virtual base.

But no displacements there for 12 months.
Short call reserve call out is 4 hours.

The CRJ MEC put out a memo on it.

Figures. Nada for erj. These are important things to know when your options are commuting to ewr or being home based (or within 4 freaking hours!)

There’s some time. I’m sure you guys will get the details soon.
It had to be announced on our side as ATL winds down.

It appears about 130 CRJ pilots will move over to the ERJ side.
Some prelims will be run, but my assumption is that DFW will go super senior, to include some senior captains displacing to FO. CRJ captains who put DFW CA followed by DFW FO will be pay protected if they are displaced to FO.
Second in seniority will be TYS. With a 4 hour reserve call out it can be covered by those who live in north ATL.
We shall see.
