Yeah, came with an "every man for himself, hit the lifeboats" email. Sort of. He is a very good guy who has "been there, done that, got the t-shirt" in aviation and 121. He will be missed

Not my sinking ship anymore, but I still consider it the most informative email from a MEC chair in known history.

If things improve, he can always come back within 180 days. His “every man for himself” letter was BEFORE the 175 carrot.....although I’m sure he knew already.

^^^^^ This.
He put heart and soul into steering us away from a worse outcome.
If the rumors about a degraded alliance between MEC's are true, I'd imagine that would be a bitter pill to swallow, given all the effort over the past 14ish months.

His efforts, and reputation, should always be appreciated.

That’s good to hear. Any indications how soon they expect a TA?

The latest union email made it seem like it could be as soon as the end of the week. Realistically, sometime by the end of the month. Maybe.

Word I heard is that we have until the payout, ish, to determine the cost structure. Up to that point the 25 are “guaranteed”. Beyond that, to the EOM, the full 25, if any, are no longer guaranteed.

Rumor is SkyWest’s CRJ700’s were just extended 9 more years. I guess they are out of the running for losing 700’s. Mesa’s 20 CRJ700’s are up for renewal next year and GoJet has exactly 25 CRJ700’s with UAX.

You can always take this FWIW.

From earlier today talking with a mechanic in Houston: A week or 2 ago a tech rep from Embraer was visiting the mx hangar and says there's already Ejets on the assembly line that are "tagged" as Xjet airframes.
