“Don’t be distracted by shiny new jets,” be distracted by losing your job.

The current CRJ MEC chairman is not that type. Frankly, if we had this guy in the position years ago we might have avoided the TM debacle. His departure will leave a deep void.

We don't fall under the ERJ contract yet so we can't vote on it. The company wanted to do a joint contract and all three sides were working on this. New ERJ MEC chairman said no more, so now the ERJ side and the company are working out the deal.
Not sure about pilots who go to ORD this October to operate the CRJ-200. If the contract comes up for ratification after 1 October I assume these pilots will be able to vote since they will be operating under the ERJ contract.

That's my question. Who?

GoJet does and will get them. But the company will try to say we could if you take a crappy contract and sign it right away before they announce the Go Jet award..we are not stupid, the direct literature from UA says replacement jets - there is no room for new scope.

kind of ironic anyway to take a cut at the regional level that already gets paid peanuts to fly a plane that should be at mainline rates.

I'm not so sure it will be crap. Fifty CRJ pilots were hired away by Kalitta alone this month. They are coming back next month to get another 50. I think that may have been a wake-up call for management and UAL, especially when our MEC chairman announced he was taking a slot. He was very positive about a future here and he was the reason many of us stayed as long as we have, so his announcement that he was leaving was pretty much an "every man for himself" announcement.
Pilots are needed to fly these aircraft while still fulfilling the ERJ/CRJ contracts and this is not 2012 when Comair went under and the pilots were left to take any flying job they could find if they were lucky enough to find a flying job. I've been saying for several months that UAL needed to quit dilly-dallying around or they would probably find ERJ's with UAL colors parked all over the country.
Or maybe it's wishful thinking on my part.

That's closer to the truth..

It's very simple. If it's crap, pilots won't come here and those here will continue to leave. We're already seeing regionals struggling to staff flying. The CRJ side is having to pick up more DAL flying through November. They didn't do this because they love us, they did it because other regionals, to include Endeavor and SkyWest couldn't staff it. If those 175's go to any other carrier it is the final nail in this place as it will be a clear indicator that UAL does not really give a crap what happens to us or how their feeder flying is staffed.
Again, I could well be wrong. But if I am I will go elsewhere (if I'm still here), as will many other pilots.

BTR still open. Not 100% sure about ATL (I avoid that place). I know our hanger there is gone.

Endeavor does LASA contract MX. There are zero LASA mechanics left, all gone.
