Yeah, but 10/14 is the last class to get assignments. Plenty of open time in all bases on the 145. I’d be surprised if some of the next classes don’t get EWR. Probably alternating between classes at this point. Of course all this is speculation, as know one knows what will actually happen.

There’s 30 or so total FO pairings in open time for ALL Bases for December. Hardly plenty.

Reserves have not been flying much lately.

I was looking at Jan also.

So do you think potential new hires should come to XJT?

Seems like the reserve times are about to add up and very heavy on the FO side with limited bases; KIAH/kORD

No matter which carrier you chose, starting in March (Spring Break time) flying really picks up system wide. Carriers add extra flights as there are more travelers going on vacation.....After Labor Day, flying slows down....it's been that way for years for every carrier.....so it sounds like ExpressJet is gearing up and hiring now, so come March new hires are done with training, & they as a company, can staff their airplanes to support the extra Spring/Summer flying.

The 20 175's that Mesa ordered will be ours not United, we will be paying the notes on it not United. I believe this is how we got them. I'm not sure if XJT, Compass, or Skywest were able to buy these aircraft or were depending on UAL to buy then award them. Mesa played it smart, we did not underbid or undercut we simply said no investment on your part( UAL) we buy the planes and you award the flying to us. JO leased our 20 700's to GoJet to help United get newer aircraft with more seats.(We make money from aircraft we have entirely paid off the 700's) and uses some of that money to pay the payments on our 20 175's. If you look at it from a business sense it's perfect. If I'm not mistaken the ExpressJet aircraft are owned by United, so they are paying the bank note and paying you to fly it. That benefits ExpressJet. Which is great. We bought our aircraft and United just pays us to fly it. Benefits UAL no brainier on their end.

On December 3, 2019, the company announced it will be adding 20 new Embraer E175 LL aircraft to its United Express fleet. The aircraft will be owned and financed by Mesa and be covered under a 12-year capacity purchase agreement. Deliveries are scheduled to begin May 2020 and expected to be completed by the end of 2020. In addition to the new aircraft, the contract for 42 existing E175s, which are owned by United, has been extended an additional five years. The 18 Mesa-owned E175s are contracted through 2028. As part of the deal, Mesa will lease its 20 CRJ-700 aircraft to another United Express carrier.

Never ask pilots you don’t know for career advice. They will usually only tell you what benefits them. For the guys that want a new contract, they will tell you not to come, hoping it will force the company’s hand to raise pay. For the junior guys that think a major will be calling as soon as they get their 1000, contract isn’t as important, and they want you to come and boost their seniority.

Real facts, you may not get the 175, and if you do, you may not be flying much. If you are ok flying a 145, or sitting reserve for awhile on the 175, then this may be the place for you.

Yep, that’s all stuff that will mostly be assigned to relief line holders in another week.

Figured there was something to it, as it seemed like an excessive amount. Thanks for clarifying.

What are you comparing the amount of reserve flying to? 30 trips across all bases in the next 2 weeks might seem like a ton of flying to some. Just because a reserve isn’t flying 80+ hrs a month but will still be off reserve within a month or two doesn’t mean it’s a bad situation for a reserve compared with the rest of the industry.

You act like it’s a bad thing because every day isn’t red flag. Wait til the summer and you will be complaining when there aren’t enough reserves. Try to be a little more realistic.

Man you HATE other perspectives. Subodh needs some pointers on how to play nicely with others. You’d save some cash on your little referral campaign if you would stop deterring quality pilots with your “my way or the highway” mentality. Relax chief......there are plenty of other airlines for you to plow through when you are done burning down XJT.
