The EQO is readily available public information. Anyone who wants to work at Xjt can easily access the contract and all the benefits. What the union has put out is a lot closer to the "full truth" than anything management, recruiters, or you want to have out there in a public forum for potential new hires to see.
New hires are more than welcome and very needed. DoSomePilotStuf can dupe people all day and see how many people actually stay on property for more than a year before bailing for greener pastures (other regionals). |

I guess I do have the advantage of a hopeful long term outlook, because I have no intention of staying here. It must really suck to work at a regional and have given up hope of ever making it to a real airline. I can see why you would be such a miserable being. For a new hire at his first regional, you sure seem to know a lot about unions. Intentions are great, but they don’t do much for you when the economy takes a nose dive. IF you are a “new hire” then you should be hoping for QOL and pay increases that attract more new hires before the next slowdown hits. If you're here for the TPIC, hope that seniority has a sea change if you don't want to be on reserve. Remember that we often fly CAs as FOs on reserve, so no TPIC for that. IAH Captains holding a phase I line have been here over 14 years. We can project what may / should be, but that's the reality at the time of posting. EWR is a little better at 9/2006 Phase II is a little better but I'm guessing close to 13 years to hold a CA line in IAH for example. |

My number one concern going forward is the likelihood that United would just as soon bury XJT than engage in negotiations with such an unprofessional bunch of sissies. You do realize that a group of 20+ year regional pilots offers absolutely no value to the parent company. You folks are all gonna negotiate yourselves right out of a job! At this point it makes more sense to just open an IAH and ORD base for Commutair and just dissolve XJT. Oh wait, what are those Commutair rumors?! Everyone seems so certain I’m management so I guess you heard it hear first! Union spreads “truth” about XJT, XJT can’t meet hiring goals, XJT dissolves! Congrats oh fearless Union leaders!! If you really want to keep people from coming here, I’ve got a better narrative for you: “Don’t come to XJT, when the next recession hits we are sure to be the first to go because we have such a top heavy pilot group weighing us down! And they want a friggin raise!” First rule of negotiation, know your own value. XJT Union’s perception of the value of its own pilot group is VASTLY overinflated. |
