Head of Lav Service disposal.

DrunkenShytbird 01-17-2019 09:07 AM

Well, Folks can think what they want about the Guy, but he actually was honest, after all, when he stated
"this is absolutely NOT a wind down"... well, at least so far:D

FlyRight2876 01-17-2019 09:49 AM

The new guy is no gem. Careful for what you wish for...

He left commutair with full classes, a growing fleet, and growing route structure. Not defending his comments to the pilots but maybe also judge him by his results.

What results would those be? That he turned a 2nd tier carrier into a 2nd tier carrier?

He turned a turboprop commuter airline into a regional carrier. Not a large one, but a respectable achievement.

701EV 01-17-2019 07:40 PM

The new guy is going to do whatever United Air Lines tells him to do.

Pretty much this.

He’s NOT building an airline. He’s simply doing what UAL tells him to with UAL’s allotment of checks, NOTHING MORE.

Let the games begin......

That hard part is ManaAir will be a private company. No investor calls ect.. game of silence and wait..

When you have bad endometriosis, you need to take 10 days off every 28.

Help me out here. I’m usually a pretty savvy guy when it comes to humor....even really obscure humor with vague references. But I honestly don’t understand why you think this is funny, or even some sort of “burn”? I mean....I get it. You dropped the “A”, and say MAN instead of MANA. But.....what’s the joke?

watch 01-18-2019 10:55 AM

Speaking of Mana Air, UAL, etc. when is this deal going to close?

You’ll just have to consider the source. Check his post history. Seems like one of the 1%-2%

I’m told the issue right now is the government shutdown, as there are things on their end they need to approve to finalize the deal. Because it’s no fault of the companies involved, in told the union will likely grant a waiver to the (redacted) contingency item in the new contract.

I think it’s something like
“MAN, I wish I didn’t leave ExpressJet!”

Are applicants beating down the door to get in yet? I’m interested to see how many are in the class on Monday.

I was told there has been a huge influx of applications and interviews. I think the next couple classes are still smaller but should see the numbers increase drastically for March classes. With Republic and Endeavor backed up till later in the year and SkyWest finished growing, I would suspect that will bump the numbers also. Based on the system bid that awarded this week, looking like sub 3 year upgrade in the next system bid.

SkyWest finished growing???..... that would not be correct. Terry leaving is a sign that the sell is close or already happened..

What net growth does SkyWest have on the books?

More 900 atmospheres and another E175 and more EV 700’s coming in from conformance checks. Lossing some 200’s but still a new growth at the end of 2019

Not to rain on your parade but these sorts of grandiose ideas of incredible growth and shortened upgrade time have been going on with XJT for a decade ...

Really... I have been here for the last decade and never did we have the promise of growth like we do now. We have done nothing but shrink since I was hired in 07.

Skyteam783 01-19-2019 01:50 PM

Mx hasn’t even started yet

If this karma-sutra guy comes in to the mx side and tries pulling any BS crap that skyjunk did with mx.....wow... a truly and expensive wrong move on buying into XJT. Been reading the pilot issues.... not even close to mx issues..... just saying. No dis respect to you fly guys, but our group is 100% DONE getting **** on. Just saying.

Terry M. Vais ceased serving as the Chief Operating Officer of ExpressJet and transitioned into an operations role with SkyWest.

Not surprising that he returned to the mothership.

Arliss 01-22-2019 03:43 PM

That's interesting, since Karnik's memo said Terry was "retiring".

He may be due retirement under his contract with ExpressJet and still accept a position at SkyWest.
