The moral of this story is that unless all of the regionals have similar cost structures, United and others will simply move assets to the lowest bidder. In the next round of talks the 25 big rj’s just awarded to XJT could be transferred to another carrier, or they could take assets from another and grow XJT. Regional pilots are in a tough spot. Wanting some type of QOL is understandable, but pricing yourself out of the market is a possibility too.

XJT stood up to CAL and we kept our industry leading work rules the entire time. We downsized because of Skypest deciding to grow the nonunion side. Assets can and will move around the system, but in the overall outlook, regional pilots pay system wide are getting close to par across the system. UAL doesn’t have much more room to cut, so the next goal is to get scope relief so the regionals will take over more domestic flying.

SkyWest was able to pick you guys apart because Cal sold their stake in XJT after you got that contract. You’re right about the regionals getting pretty close to par. Hopefully you guys can collectively raise that bar and make the regional model less appealing. That will make it cost effective to bring the flying back and to create mainline jobs, as well as make your life more tolerable while you wait for that interview. I’m not a fan of what the regionals have grown into post 9/11 (both the amount of flying that’s subbed out and the way one company is used to beat the other). There are a lot of really good people stuck in a bad deal. UAL is definitely wanting scope relief, but it isn’t for sale at any price. They can have more 76 seaters now if they just exercise the same clause that Delta did. If they want more after that, we fly them.

All this talk about bring flying back to mainline will never happen! That argument is over.

Watching you idiots argue over who the best regional is is like watching midget wrestling.

Republic/Mesa are at risk of losing significant United flying over the next year or two. XJT hit bottom, in five or ten years we will hit the top. It’s cyclical.

Nut up, or shut the ****** up. Post your source where UA said ExpressJet will be their 175 platform going forward.

YOU HAVN’T EVEN OPERATED A SINGLE 175 FLIGHT!

Also, post your source on the expiration of the CPA’s for YX’s UA contracts. Nut up, or shut the ****** up.

Sorry to pop your bubble but what he posted is true. Accept the facts KC.

If KC and stab are any representation of the YX pilot group, is anyone really surprised their success rate at legacies is so low?

Agree. Have met many stand up folks at Republic. KC is the exception for sure.
