So elucidate how you can be low seniority and have good QOL. Details please.

Live in base, and/or use the line improvement window to drop down to 20+ days off.

QOL for a junior ExpressJet FO can be extremely high, if they want it.

That’s why I said properly staffed. Better staffing better QOL. Seriously though thanks for the answer. Do you used PBS? We (Mesa) don’t have line improvement window. Can you explain it a bit more?

Have a good contract at a company where management abides by it. As pointed out, live in base.

As others have said, you equated QOL with only where you stand on the seniority list. That may be the case at expressjet, but that is not the case some other Regionals where work/reserve rules greatly enhance QOL. You don’t have to be in the top half of the seniority list to have great QOL. Sorry you don’t experience that here bro.

At the airline I work at, almost all the lines have the same number of days off...Min days off are 13/14, depending on the month.

63 cancels - 50 for crew

My flight from LFT to IAH on Monday morning was canceled on Sunday night and I was wondering if this was the reason. :(

Was it operated by XJT?

Sorry your flight was cancelled! It’s such a bad look for United to have an unreliable regional operating for them out of IAH. Republic is doing their best to pick up the slack for XJT’s lackluster performance, but we can only do so much! Hopefully your travel plans weren’t affected too much.

Seriously, you must be new to this industry.
Just a few years ago I remember taxiing by Republic -145’s parked all over willy nilly as they didn’t have enough pilots to man them. They filed for bankruptcy protection, Delta was suing them for breach of contract. They were a dumpster fire and no one thought they would last a year.

As time has passed I’ve come to see that you never know how things will turn out in this industry. ACA and Comair, once the “go to” regionals are long gone. Republic is still around.

About the only thing I will say for sure is that the UAL regional feed is a dumpster fire. They can’t seem to figure out what they want. Either UAL is the evil genious or the inept simpleton. I mean 8 feeders?? Seriously??

You need to get a life and spend more time worrying about flying and other stuff than your former airline (if XJT was your former airline). What’s hot today is cold tomorrow. I really think when you look back on your posts years from now you’ll realize how naive you now are. I knew all the answers about the regional industry 15 years ago as well.
