I chose ExpressJet. Probably the number 1 reason was because of the purposeful shrinking that Inc imposed on them for the past few years. Just like the stock market, without risk there is no reward. I would rather support a unionized carrier with a huge upside right now, rather than go fly for a non-union carrier that has a too high opinion of themselves and milked a subsidiary for all they were worth. We can all have a bad day. IF that ever happens, I would want a union behind me advocating for my protection. Those that think they operate aircraft perfectly in all conditions are showing blindness to the risks, and in my opinion are even more susceptible to an incident.

XJT has 60 tail numbers reserved and is installing a 175 sim. You don’t invest in a sim to staff 25 airplanes.

Not saying it should be your number one concern, but having that protection is better than not having it.

Give it a rest. You really don’t have any idea how idiotic you sound, do you? I mean do you really have an airline job or are you a bubble boy with nothing else to do with your life but to respond to every person who posts in an ExpressJet forum? Get ooff your computer and get a life.

So are you saying XJT has them reserved and not United?

No, I’m just saying you’re so stupid you don’t know how idiotic you sound. That’s all.
Oh, and that you need to get a life and stop being a petty, little man who seems to have nothing better to do than respond to every post in the ExpresssJet section. You must be one of the ones who ignores the crew and is on his cell phone all day. I can’t see how you have time for anything else.
So that was two things. Or does that make it three?

Staffing will not be an issue once the E175s keep coming. We will get E175 FOs from other regionals over the next year as upgrade times drop under two years. Regional FOs have a history of chasing upgrade times, it's XJT's time to steal pilots from other regionals.

Curious, which regionals have upgrade times greater than 2 years on the 175 other than XJT?

Oh well, at least we got a handful of good answers before the **** fight started again 😁!. Thanks for the advice guys

I’m not gonna offer advice to go to one over the other, but I would be careful on making a decision based on speculation on these boards. There’s risks based on empty speculation and risks based on facts and trends. All the XJT “growth theories” were started by one person pulling something out of their ass, feeding it to a “believer” and then that person pulling it out of their ass until you have a group of guys saying “oh yeah that sounds good, I like that theory, let’s go with that to make us feel better!” But in the reality that we all live in there exists no trends or positive outcomes to this day that backs those theories up. Unlike “theories” at other places.
