Do they? I believe it is closing if it isn’t closed already. Many of their mechanics came over to Endeavor. They are opening a GSO base at some point.

Very possible. Sounds like you know more than I do? Just going off their website.

Whatever opens will close. Whatever closes will open.

Regardless, I have an offer from ExpressJet and am seriously considering it. I like what I see and most of what I read (I account for how generally people are more negative and complain on forums). I did/do plan to bid EWR followed by ORD. TYS would be first choice but I don't see that happening for quite a while.

As long as you’re happy with IAH or ORD you’ll be fine. EWR is shrinking and TYS is unobtainable unless you have 20 yrs of seniority.

I got TYS as an FO after 6 weeks on reserve. Its pretty Jr on FO side vs Captain.

Yes, looks junior on the FO side. It’s an extremely small base so difficult to judge if that will hold true for others in the future.

there are 6 FOs on the TYS seniority list. 3 were hired this year.

Not 20 years but also small enough that no one knows when the next vacancy will open.

Since there aren’t many 20 year FOs, I took that as 20 year CA. Especially since street CAs are the next latest and greatest.

December reports officially show XJT is profitable again and our company is now operating in the “black”. The future of TYS as a 145 base is being “critically evaluated”.
