You kids today will never understand the struggle....

Back in my day, after walking to a computer, in the snow uphill, we had to watch out for an a-hole named “farabi”.

Default Mil use of ILIW?

This thread has been a great way to knock the rust off of the bidding process. Thanks to those that have contributed.

have been out on Mil leave for a while and am returning soon so I'm trying to regain my bearings on the bid process and how to work it in with my Mil required flying days. Do any of you Mil guys have a good process for working with the ILIW (or even if it's not the best method?) to work your Mil schedule into the airline schedule? I would like to just space my mil flying days around the airline days to build time faster and not drop below 60 hours. Any mil guys care to share how they go about it?

I see that it is ideal to have off for the line improvement window, but the whole company can't be off so how does that work? If you are working, you are screwed? Does the open window start at Midnight?

You can teach your wife or friend)))) ILIW starts at 8:30pm, 8:00pm or 10:00pm depends on base

It’s not like it used to be when we were a lot bigger, with more pilots trading. Coverage used to go to zero rather quick. Now I can still make nice trades 6 hours into the window.

That's good to hear! And I don't know if I would trust my wife to do it for me. I don't know if there's a max number of days you can work, but she'd probably "accidentally" sign me up for that :-)
