The crew rooms have a lot stirring lately...what have you heard?

wmupilot85 02-23-2020 05:12 PM

I've been off for awhile now, but what is being said?

Lebron 02-24-2020 04:35 AM

UA looking to sell XJT to another company is what I’ve heard...

Press release already out.

175’s going to Skywest. 145’s getting “upgraded”

Big Time “YIKES”! Time to abandon ship now.

watch 02-24-2020 05:20 AM

We had 25 of them. This isn't a big deal for anyone who is a) here for a job or b) here to get experience for a major airline in the future.

Airlines change fleets all the time.

LoL, yep add about 200 new hires to the “disgruntled” list. Many came here to fly at a growing airline with things happening.

Our hiring came to a trickle after we lost the last batch of 175’s. With all the training of pilots from the 175 back to the 145 I’m sure we’ll be able to staff those here on out...

This isn’t a “airlines change fleets all the time” kinda thing. The planes aren’t even all on line yet. It hasn’t even been a year since starting service (June 15th).

This is terrible news for our pilots flying that plane and our airline going forward;(

SeeYa 02-24-2020 05:38 AM

Well I certainly didn’t expect that news...yikes

DownInPetaluma 02-24-2020 05:38 AM

SkyWest once again, from the beyond, affecting our collective future..

“Where do they come up with this stuff”

Seems JB was warning us. There’s more to come too...

EWR still closing.

SeeYa 02-24-2020 05:46 AM

I mean, it’s still a net increase in aircraft and looks like a new base. So not all terrible news. Just crazy to think how much the company spent training people on the 175 in past year or so

technically, the airline is growing by a few dozen E-145s, and adding a Denver base.

Why would someone come to Expressjet if they wanted to fly E-175s? That would be dumb, go to Republic or Skywest instead.

Not growing. We’ve been contracted to fly 120+ 145’s for ages now. They couldn’t attract enough talent to fill those seats so the fleet just dwindled down. This isn’t new flying.

Nobody can really spin this into a positive other than the Denver base.

EWR and ORD are rumored to close as well. That’ll come in a later e-mail.

if either one closes, that will be be pretty bad, life-changing news for a lot of people.

That’s what it’s looking like...perhaps minus TYS, in my opinion.

I know lateral moves to other regionals look bad but in cases like this?.....

DEN base has been announced on the company Instagram page.

Agreed. Relatively new and typed on the 175 and considering jumping ship. Unless a new contract comes out I don’t see why anyone would want to fly the 145 when we can get better pay and a bonus at other company’s for the type rating.

I wouldn’t but there is always a 1500 CFI or two who likes their Ponzi scheme sales pitch

And their pilots if I read between the lines?

I sincerely hope the powers that be have an outstanding plan or this is about to get interesting, IMO.

Maybe by way of preferential hiring, but that's probably about it. Anything that impacts the seniority of an existing new hire would likely bring the XJT hiring pipeline to a trickle.

That would fit with the street Captain hiring.

I bet a pretty good chunk of pilots go to GJ since they offer pay-scale adjustment for 121 years of experience. And since both are TSH companies it would be easier to transfer sick/vacation time and 401k’s

XJT would probably pick up the Denver based crews for those who don’t want to move

Its still there in the text portion of the announcement.

Terrible news for TSA, but why is it taken for granted XJT pilots will continue to chase planes around the country on a sub-par contract?

Didn’t you read the MEC’s email. They are going to use this as leverage.

Oh yeah let wait another 12 months “to see what happens next”. United has NO CLUE what they are doing with UAX. This place is a dumpster fire.

SeeYa 02-24-2020 09:51 AM

Yeah, honestly I don’t really blame XJT for a lot of this BS. Not saying they’re perfect but ultimately when Daddy U says jump our management does have to ask “how high?”
