I was turned down at XJet by some rather large "lady" who said I didn't fit their image (6'1, 190 lbs, have all my teeth) and to re-apply in 6 mos. I interviewed at 5 other regionals and was offered employment w/all of them. Who the heck knows what XJet is looking for. I have two friends with DUI's that fly there!

No, thats SAD!! Sad that everyone automatically thinks that skywest is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and that they have the best of everything. People, do some research...quit drinking the kool-aid!

THANK YOU xjet for helping the rest of us raise OUR pay and benefits!

I got a decent raise last year because AWAC's concessionary pay is tied to 50 seat industry average captain rates, and XJT brought that average up. Thanks guys, I appreciate the boost off your backs....just wish you could have tied your FO pay to 60% of CA rates though.

Here's to a first step in a return to pattern bargaining...

I wanted to work for Alaska or United. I got turned down by Continental and World. Hired at UPS. It's a crapshoot. It really means nothing to not get hired one day and hired somewhere else the next. Could have been your tie. Could have been whether the interviewer got laid the night before. You just can't take it personally. Give it your best shot and move on....

Not directed at the OP, as they seem to be doing just fine. Just my thoughts at the moment...

had a feeling that as soon as someone said he got the better end of the deal the expressjet fanboys would jump in and get all hussy about it, and it'd turn into a peein contest...congrats on the job, when all is said and done, a regional is a regional..get some 121 experience under your belt, and start sending out the apps to the places where you REALLY wanna be.

Hell, my interviewer said during a long pause, "Sorry, I was just taking a note, you were looking right here on my forehead weren't you" as that person points to the right side of their head.

I couldn't keep a straight face and said "no I was looking over the top of your head so you knew I wasn't looking down while I thought of my answer."

I had heard that looking down is bad.

Needless to say I was hired. Just goes to show some of the very odd things they may pay attention to.

Congrats on SkyWest.
