Word is that most will be going to CLE because that is where the bulk of the United flying will come out of...that is unless they open a new base. But who knows.

Along those lines I would expect more announcements. This is just simply an educated guess and I have no basis for it, but IMHO you can't run a cost effective operation with 32 frames on deadheads and reserves living in hotels.

I mean if ASA only got 14 frames and they're opening a base in ORD and IAD, I can't imagine we wouldn't open at least one new domicile.

I guess we'll see.

I can't wait for the next episode when Emperor Tilton comes out of hiding and takes center stage in "United Strikes Back."

B-DUB! Haha, hey man. I'm right around 300, so I've still got a ways to go. I've got a pretty ridiculous line at Cape right now though (15 days off a month, holidays off, home by lunch), so life ain't bad in the mean time. I'm just looking forward to not having to fly 30 year old props in the weather anymore. :D

Congrats guys, that's really great to hear. Not a bad way to go into the holidays I guess. Hopefully the rest won't be far behind.

So considering this latest group of recalls, at what point would you say things are looking up for aviation? Or have we merely found the bottom?

I believe the other airlines recalls have been due to small growth in hours from whatever majors they fly for, or for small amounts of attrition.

This recall at xjet is just for the united flying. I believe the union said the company would evaluate the continental schedule next year and see if any additional recalls are needed.

So to answer your question...it looks like the regional world is ever so slowly crawling back up from rock bottom. I wouldn't plan on a whole lot of new hires classes next year though...probably just the really high-time-already-typed-thousands-of-hours-turbine-time guys getting picked off the top of the stacks of resumes.

It is true they like to promote from within but we will soon have a new CEO and all bets are off as to what the "new" company culture will be like.

Has an F/A. I figure I could hang out there for a while till they start hiring again. I WILL NOT be wearing any skirts, heels, etc. On or off duty. I know some guys/gals took that route to get on with thier respective carrier.

The new CEO could be a concern, I trust the board knew what brought XJET sucess in the past and they will use that knowledge to pick a guy or gal like that in the future. XJET knows if you take care of your people, they will take care of you. Sadly the majority of airlines know longer think like that anymore. Besides I want to get out of the midwest. I'm sure you've seen the winters up here, DEPRESSING!!!!

I want to start a commitee to get Gordon Bethune as the CEO. Man that woud be awesome!!
