Don't get me wrong, ASA was a bad name with an even worse reputation but you have to understand why some ASA people are angry. |

Maybe but from where i'm sitting, it looks as if ASA management took over everything and it is basically ASA with a new name.

Agreed. Unfortunately for us XJT guys ASA are doing everything their own way regardless of whether our way was better. Why can't our management team just cherry pick the best practices of both companies and move forward in creating a happy and harmonious company? This 'our way or the highway' stuff isn't doing much to endear ASA to the guys at XJT.

As far as being "removed and replaced", it's ONLY aesthetic things. You'd be surprised at how much things on the XJT side are changing as far as things like FOM/CFM procedures, as well as our tailored Jepps, etc. So even though it may cause pain and discomfort to lose the name of a regional airline, the XJT side of the house has to inherit the crappy schedulers and the crappy Sked+. It (Sked+) has some cool features, but it's not as good as the previous stuff XJT used. So in reality, who is having things "replaced"?

While I really don't care what we are called, I think its strange that our side (skywest inc so I don't hurt any feelings) bought their side and we are taking they're name. IMO it should have remained ASA, regardless of reputation. Should all be Skywest, but that another story. Just an opinion. You really think our mainline partners are gonna suddenly and magically forget about our reputation because we changed our name to ExpressJet? Our performance is still terrible, maintenance issues out the wazoo, our scheduling sucks, and now we're loosing airplanes. In other words, ASA is still gonna be ASA, even with the name ExpressJet. This whole thing is getting ugly.
I really hope after the merger is complete at the end of the year, management can get they're head back in the game and clean this place up. Not holding my breath. Now we have to worry about getting displaced/furloughed/pushed down to reserve for infinity. |

Who cares? Why does everybody need to keep correcting someone when they say ASA bought XJT? We all know that Skywest owns the whole thing. The fact is, XJT got bought. ExpressJet is now one with ASA, not Skywest, no matter how much you hate it or lie to yourself that you are with Skywest. ASA (oh sorry, ExpressJet for all you sensitive little girls out there) and Skywest are two completely different companies. What does it matter!? Geez... end rant |

And why are you so sensitive about being corrected? Some people go around and correct other's spelling and grammar. I guess I go around correcting misinformation about Skywest buying ExpressJet. Anyways, I rather we weren't associated with Skywest anyways but my say doesn't count for crap. I wish we really were two separate companies and not just a shell game company. So, no, I don't lie to myself that I'm with Skywest because I rather be independent.

Remember how it felt when people said "you aren't a REAL pilot" or "since you aren't THE pilot you probably don't get to fly". It's the principle of the matter. It's kind of annoying when people sound arrogant when they are supposed to be professionals. "We bought you!" sounds totally arrogant when it's not true. I hear it a lot from ASA guys.

My thing was that we all know the truth. So why are we still arguing over this stupid crap? |
I'll tell you guys what will be great, we take our sweet time in negotiations, we (XJT) continue to operate under our contract, rejecting any TA inferior to our current contract, and we let the egos eat themselves up at the top. PBS- shove it up your ass.
Mediocre health benefits - up your ass Horrible vacation clause - up your ass Horrible pay rates for equipment size and type - up your ass Yeah we want the world of our contract plus increases, anything else is not acceptable. This would also benefit the ASA pilots, so for the idiot that said we want the world, he should realize what he/she stands to gain. Welcome to ExpressJet. |

WRONG.....they are not operating on the ASA certificate. They have said since day 1 it will be the XJT certificate due to Mexico operations. They serve more airports in MX than AeroMexico. The cost to bring the ASA certificate up to speed would be ridiculous. They will be under the BTA (Jetlink) certificate. Whether they keep the callsign, who knows.
