ASA/XJT/SureJet's new name is.....

ExpressJet! A good choice. I don't know why we didn't just go with it at the very beginning of the whole merger process.

HVAA 10-13-2011 11:20 AM

ExpressJet name to stay - ASA & SureJet gone

Effective Dec 31st, 2011

Superpilot92 10-13-2011 12:14 PM

Good choice!

RedOverWhite 10-13-2011 12:18 PM

This is an outrage!

I'm still going to say I work for SureJet, viva la resistance!

captain beefy 10-13-2011 12:36 PM

They'll still screw this up somehow. Watch, when the uniform and IDs come out they will spell Expressjet wrong.

clearprop 10-13-2011 12:43 PM

wonder how much $$ they spent to pick the obvious name.

proskuneho 10-13-2011 01:29 PM

At least we won't have to tell people that we work for Surejet.

none really. they got smart about it, finally, and opened it up to a vote by the employees of both xjt and asa.

STLaviator 10-13-2011 06:46 PM

Roughly 4,000 votes for XJT; 2,000 votes for ASA, and 1,000 combined between the other two options. Solid choice. Uniform changes and logo changes will be phased in slowly I'm sure. Also, rumor has it that the Acey callsign will stay.

as much as I would like to combine a little of both companies I would have to vote out the Acey callsign... sounds horrid on the radio. Might as well keep Jetlink if their gonna go with Expressjet as the new company name. Rolls off the tongue better too.:D

blastoff 10-13-2011 07:18 PM

$10 says that they go with "Endeavor" for the new callsign no one will like.

broncoflyer8912 10-14-2011 04:55 AM

They better stay with Acey as the callsign...

The Juice 10-14-2011 06:10 AM

You gonna bust some heads if they don't?

According to CT, our next vote will be a pilot only vote for the callsign. I can't wait to submit my choices.

Interesting... I didn't know that words had sexual preferences.

Next time you go to post just remember it's better to leave your homophobia off the boards.

pete2800 10-14-2011 02:37 PM

They should have stuck with the SureJet name.

And made the callsign "Surely"

(And don't call me Surely!)

Ah, it never gets old...

duvie 10-14-2011 03:36 PM

+1 for WstCstCmtr

STLaviator 10-14-2011 08:20 PM

+2 ... "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all."

Acey sounds kinda classy, and makes sense to me since the combined XJT/ASA will be operating on the ASA certificate. Would also be a nice nod to the history of the company even though they're losing the ASA name. That said, still not sure what my choice would be. Looking forward to seeing some of the options that get laid out in the near future!

WRONG.....they are not operating on the ASA certificate. They have said since day 1 it will be the XJT certificate due to Mexico operations. They serve more airports in MX than AeroMexico. The cost to bring the ASA certificate up to speed would be ridiculous. They will be under the BTA (Jetlink) certificate. Whether they keep the callsign, who knows.

I think acey sounds lame, don't need to get all uppity.

hendefea 10-15-2011 05:52 AM

3. WHY THE HELL DID PEOPLE VOTE FOR NO NAME TAGS?????? I don't get the problem with it....

This is starting to go a lot like the contract negotiations....Expressjet guys want the world and are not willing to compromise.

Why do you need a name tag slick? You already have an ID that has your name on it. The idea is stupid. You need to chillax.

And "Wanting the world" is a bad way to start contract negotiations? I bet you always pay sticker price for a car.

Salukipilot4590 10-15-2011 07:51 AM

Nametags?

Kinda forgot that was an ASA thing....like reminding people two or three times what your name is.

Name tags are stupid and tacky. This is not a retail job at the mall or TGIFridays.

oh4gto 10-15-2011 09:14 AM

ASA certificate with Express Jet name. This is complete bull****. If anyone asks who I work for Im sticking with ASA.

Sure there should be compromise, but why wouldn't you want to aim high? Your complaint makes no sense. XJT has one of the best, if not the best, contracts in the regional industry - of course nobody on the XJT side is going to want less. It isn't about not wanting to concede to the other airline; ASA/XJT should want the best possible, not something average.

There's no use in pointing fingers from side to side. Not saying you are, but there's an awful lot of offense being taken around ASA/XJT during this whole merger.

Ah, a family fight and we haven't had a single drink!

Walkeraviator 10-18-2011 10:39 AM

I could care less what name is on my paycheck as long as they keep coming...

PruneJuice 10-18-2011 11:12 AM

If I were at asa I would be a little miffed that everything of the old asa is being removed and being replaced by expressjet even though asa purchased expressjet.

somertime32 10-18-2011 11:17 AM

green jacket gold jacket.....who gives a $#%#! haha I just want the whole process to be done.

3stripes 10-18-2011 11:17 AM

Skywest purchased ASA. Then five years later Skywest purchased XJT. Skywest then decided to merged ASA and XJT together. ASA did not buy XJT. Simple.
