This is true, but we will of course always try to push for it. The bottom line is we do have some protections in place to protect jobs affected by the transfer of airplanes. We are happy with our current contract (still industry leading) and don't care if it takes 10 years to negotiate a new one.

Jazz 4th year FO:56$ top 70$ Minimum days off: Blockholder: 14; Reserve: 12 Overtime: 150% pay over 85 hours/mo Monthly and reserve guarantee: 77.5-82.5 hours 80$ a day PD Thats regional industry leading... and thats just the highlights. |

To the original poster, take your pick, go to 9E and get your first of four career furloughs over earlier. Go to ASA/Express and delay your first career furlough a couple years. Take the pain now or take it later.

While hourly rates may be similar, work rules will make or break your pay. As a 5th year FO, my total gross will be $52k, not including company contributions to the 401k, which is up to 12% of that. Max at Pinacolaba is 5.25% matching.
Health insurance contributions are another thing to consider as well. It will definitely affect your bottom line every month, and varies widely from company to company. |

The new Pinnacle contract is no where near any of the other mentioned airlines current contracts. Pay rates are nothing compared to the work rules which are the backbone of any agreement. Retirement, health care, and vacation can be the equivalent of a 15-20% difference in pay and a windfall in QOL. Good on the Pinnacle guys for finally getting a new contract but to say it is the same as the contracts other airlines negotiated when their companies were making a guaranteed 10% profit is completely foolish. You have to look at where the airlines were when those contracts were negotiated. The pay rates are the same but 50% deadhead, 1% retirement matching, crazy expensive health care, poor or no LTD coverage,... Every contract has its talking points and weaknesses but your opinion is way off of reality. |
