Eagle lost to ExpressJet

Well...I was looking on the employee travel website on AA and went to a date of February 28, 2013.

Several flights no longer say "This flight is operated by AMERICAN EAGLE AIRLINES". They now say, "This flight is operated by EXPRESSJET AS AMERICAN EAGLE".

Some stations I found that were listed as ExpressJet were: MAF ABI AMA CLL HOU LIT SHV TXK VPS (beach layover). That was when I stopped researching and had a couple drinks ...

Why is Eagle hiring?

Easy...attrition. No future here and people are bailing. You'd have to pay me a lot more than 5k to come here.

"Thanks for making your travel plans with American, operated by American Eagle, on ExpressJet.";)

If it wasn't so sad, it would be funny.

I don't get why they're hiring either. If they're hiring due to attrition, it must be one of two things-

1. CA's leaving for better jobs, meaning upgrades (hopefully)

2. Jr. FO's leaving to go to XJT.

Either way, it's a mystery why a carrier that just lost some of their flying would be hiring.

This is very old news..

AA just announced recalls starting Jan 9..so that's also a contribution to the hiring going on

That's funny right there. How does your head fit through the flight deck door?

Why is Eagle hiring?

I was wondering the same thing on the hiring issue. The conclusion that makes sense is that Eagle isn't losing any flying despite Xjet doing some of their flying.

The day the judge through out the AMR CBA with the pilots management immediately went and dissected the scope clause. So they gave Xjet some of Eagles flying and took some more AMR flying and are going to give it to Eagle. Less for AMR.

So Im sure the hiring is due to normal attrition and probably some growth off the backs of AMR employees.

Kind of sad how they do things.
