I agree and if these don't go to XJT the next round will, and in return they'll be parking twice as many 50 seaters.

Disagree? Read UAL's new scope language then look around for who has the most 50's. We at SkyWest are second to XJT with about 90ish, XJT has around 250ish.......? We'll be parking about half but that leaves 150++ 50-seaters that still must be parked and there's no way around their language. The hatchets coming to XJT, SkyWest Inc. will do their best to fight and mitigate but large reductions are inevitable. I ask you, should you get all excited about 50 E-175s if 100 E-135/145s are parked? Only if you’re looking long term.

AWAC vs ExpressJet

Well, XJTs APC profile mentions a 10 year deal with United for 200+ airframes. 10 years from when?

The June 2008 agreement covered only 205 jets with the ability to reduce to 190 and in 2010 an expanded agreement was reached to cover another 22. Currently for United I believe XJTs operating around 249 ERJ-135/145s on the L-XJT side and another dozen or so CRJ-200s operating on the L-ASA side.

I’m sure someone can dig up more but these aircraft are being flown under agreements that UAL will have to buy SkyWest Inc. out of. Just as with Delta, UAL will package these E-170/175s and CRJ-700/900s with long term contracts in order to cut 50 seaters. More than likely at a 2:1 ratio (2-50s for 1-51+). IMO the current RFP is being used to determining Fair Market Value which will be used in these negotiations.

I might be....I know plenty of fellow former military aviators in both Regional and above. They find it funny as well when civilians complain about covers, long days, it's hot in the cockpit, etc. Granted, they get tired too, run down, beat up but it's not the same at all....I'll find out soon enough. Maybe I'll cry some over here as it seems the place to do so.

You are missing one thing: According to the new contract, UAL will leave around 100-150ish 50 seaters when its all said and done, a majority of which will stay at XJT.

I wasn't trying to be douchy...I've flown with a few former military and it's definitely a different mindset. Their story usually changes about six months into the gig.

Does ExpressJet still have a 5-leg max per day?
Plus, they have the ERJ's where the wingtips go up.

But man, do I miss the Colgate Fresh paintjob.

Seriously though, go to SkyWest and fly the Bro and get California beach overnights. And hot flight attendants. And a nationwide system. And lots of bases to choose from.

But at least AWAC is better than Republic :P

That's great, military are tough guys. I worked long days in construction before flying and have a side bizz that involves hard manual labor. However, hot long days being uncomfortable flying human lives around isn't in the best interest of safety.
