Just got word that after the announcement about the raise for the Skywest pilots today. The Expressjet MEC cancelled their roadshow explaining the concessionary TA.

Its outrageous that those who represent us are even going around "selling" a concessionary TA to the pilot group. Its so clear who they actually represent-not the pilot group. The words that come to mind: Shameful, unethical, illegal, ALPA,.....

Like it or not, your elected representatives believe that the negotiating environment is poor and this is the best deal we are likely to see. The deal is concessionary, but our peers at every comparable airline are either already well below our level or are agreeing to massive concessions in exchange for possible career advancement. If we vote this down and Eagle takes further concessions for increased flow to mainline, is there really any chance of making contract gains? The more likely scenario is a worse offer, bankruptcy, or company failure. If you deem those risks worthwhile vs voting in a concessionary TA that is your prerogative. I think I'm ready to take those risks myself, but I wouldn't be too harsh on the union for letting all of us make that call together vs having 18 people decide the fate of 4,600.

The sky is falling! You should run for MEC rep!

All of those things could happen whether we vote yes or no. Our choice is whether we choose to participate in this race to the bottom that Roger Cohen and Lee Moak have put us all in. I refuse to, and I think we'll see in a few days that mine is a majority opinion.

I really couldn't care less what other regional airlines are doing. All of them taking concessions are in mergers or a bankruptcy. We're owned by SkyWest Inc, the largest and most profitable regional. They work for the two most profitable mainline carriers. They just found change in their pockets to give the SkyWest pilots a better agreement, and they can do the same for us. If they don't they can watch their stock and personal wealth tank. I refuse to take cuts for nothing.

Not picking a fight here, but Inc is profitable and your subsidiary is not. Taking cuts isn't "for nothing".

Up until this point the only answer I've heard is "we were profitable until SkyWest bought us and agreed to a crap CPA with UA". Maybe so. But this doesn't change the fact the business is loosing money! I guess they could renegotiate with UA. Or you could make a few efficiency changes (not pay cuts) and live to fight to the next CPA.
