Jr base is EWR. Plan on being there for a while. RSV in IAH is near 4 years once you get there.

Once you're hired, you'll be based in EWR. Once there, you need to initiate a bid via base trade to get Houston. When Halley's comet next perihelion comes, you might expect to get Houston. As soon as you get Houston, if you're still alive, make sure you make yourself available by having your status as "will fly"

The only regional with a base in IAH that you would be able to hold in the near future would be Mesa. You would be better off commuting to DFW and getting on with an AA regional at this point.

Most junior in Iah is 12/15 hire. If you live in or near Houston reserve is not as bad as commuting to another carrier.

Awesome, thx for the info! Recruiters kept telling me IAH was maybe 3 months in to bid. If they're anything like my Air Force recruiter, I'll take it with a grain of salt.

They will also tell you that XJT is one of the highest paying regionals for their pilots. They forgot to include the fact that most other regionals have upgrades in 2 years or less and that puts pilots on the CA pay scale. Upgrade time at XJT is over 10 years and still growing.

I don't see 3 months happening but I do see the time to get Houston dropping as most of the United CPP folks are coming from Houston. That will create some movement. I would guess 4-8 months. Upgrade times should also begin to drop as the last of those 8 year guys/gals upgrade.

Everyone is having trouble staffing so you are getting in at a good time!

8 Year Guys? XJT still has guys hired in 2007 that can't upgrade. 2017-2007 does not equal 8.

Not sure what CA's leaving would have to do with FO's in IAH either.

Seriously? People are still going to XJT? Does no one do any research?
