Not necessarily. I think the FOs are the ones who grieved it, but since the company was treating ITU different than Differences, I can see a situation where a 75 Captain bid to the 76, and the company sent junior pilots to ITU, while the more senior 757 captains sat and waited for their "differences" training.

Thinking that would require a different grievance

Maybe not if they didn't upgrade a 75 Captain but did upgrade a bus Captain. Principles the same, at some point they both just needed differences training.

Just clicked the TOF lnk in our Unions email on this issue, and it includes various Capt's as well. Surprised me a bit since the grievance was FO specific

I knew of various FOs irked at the system, but don't recall any similar grievance/statements by the Captains impacted by mgt's training decisions

Oh I brought it up to the company via email and insight report, and it was dismissed under their reasoning that it was a different type of training, even though at the end of Junior Pilot A's training, Senior Pilot B was at a lower pay level, but they were awarded the 767 Captain on the same bid. Company did not require consents of all pilots affected by a swap because it was a different class.
That was part of the basis of the grievance.

Apparently a swap between 2 pilots does not require consent of all pilots in between the seniorities of the 2 pilots. But yet in the past, the company has made pilots get email approvals of all concerned stating “ I approve the swap between X and Y, and I will not claim Passover pay.”
So no Passover pay for me from my issue.

passover pay tax implications

if this applies to you-

with recent developments in the tax bill and viewing the new proposed tax brackets... the membership could likely save HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS in income taxes by taking payment in 2018 vice 2017.

we have waited two yrs for resolution...what is 3 more days to save likely 5-10+% in taxes on settlement disbursements?

i personally contacted my mec rep w/ my concern...The more mec reps voicing concern...the better.

thanks for listening..
