Does this mean 450 newhires too? (More interviews??) How would you estimate this affects upgrade times?

A little thread drift but still expansion related:

Open dialogue isn't arguing...your input is important. Posting 16-01 only filled the EUR FO seat to 85% (and the percentage brackets were shortened; so realistically only about 70% full). Posting 16-02 sought 27 FO's and only 8 people bid it. That left 19 unfilled positions. Your classmate might have had other factors...but even a seat lock is released if you join an FDA. GGN is about right-sized for now due to new-hire fills and lack of system bids in the last 2 years...but that will change on this next go around.

Bids not out yet, where’d you get 450 from?

Solid sources....The nice lady at Aramark in the cafeteria...you think she’s just scooping potatoes....she hears all!

Just word from someone in the know. Guys like rumors, he was talking led by very credible source.

Posting 16-01 had approx 350 wide body Capts system wide..... 450 sounds huge but reasonable. That's pretty big but not that far off from '16. Throw in retirements, added triples, keeping MD's and Buses..... we shall see.....

My buds in the triple school house confirm some posts above, plus trying to ramp up to 16 crews per month.

So the Aramark lady is a good source....

Official word from the company, we are going to do 777 sims in MIA to ovoid doing them in the middle of the night. Also plan on hiring approx. 450 new pilots in 2018.

12-16 crew per month seems like a lot of manning for the B777. I guess there might be some truth in some of the rumored additional 777s.

So it’s ok for the 757 to do 0200 briefs with 0400 sim for the last 5 years but not for the 777???
