Was just going to say the same exact thing. MIA has 757 sims also. Good for the 777 folks though.

So it’s not ok to fly 777s at night?

I think there’s more to the story regarding the MIA sims. A near term reason to fill a gap before a more significant long term reason. I don’t recall the company ever buying time in simulators so that training was limited to bankers hours.

:confused:Well..... yeah.

Is that a trick question or something? This is the 777 we're talking about. :p (I keeed, I keeed)

By the way, did you send that last message from your iPhone using Tapatalk? Oh, never mind, I see it now.

Actually, the guys that will train in mia instead of the 0200 shows will not be 777 guys. It will be guys coming from the other aircraft.

Official word from the company, we are going to do 777 sims in MIA to ovoid doing them in the middle of the night. Also plan on hiring approx. 450 new pilots in 2018.

So will the 777 avoid flying in the middle of the night now too?

Hey, they don't call it the queen of the fleet for nothing.:D

No, I am not a 777 guy, just had to make the joke.

This is good news for everyone. They must be buying some more 777's or they would not need to offsite the sim training.

I'm not a 75 guy, but it was explained to me that our 757 cockpit setup is unique enough to make offsite sims significantly less feasible.

The only airlines that fly 75s like ours are American and IcelandAir (and some USAF C-32s). The IcelandAir sim is down for the foreseeable future.

Practice like you fight, I guess. Never as exhausted as my two years in the Barbie Jet.
