This is accurate. They even stated SEVERAL times throughout the day that the Expo had no bearing whatsoever on one's chances at getting an interview. This was from the CP's mouth and others.
No resumes were collected, no one on one recruitment happened. Nothing of the sort. It was purely informational and way for them to sell the FedEx brand to the buyer. It was a great event that I thoroughly enjoyed, but there was nothing associated with increasing one's chances beyond possible networking opportunities.

Did you exchange any personal information 5 days prior at the expo leading you to believe that’s why you got the call? Did they talk to you about your app or anything?

Just trying to determine whether attending this event is necessary if I’m already sold on the FedEx brand

FWIW I had an interview and I attended the job fair. I know a few others in the same boat. I was sold on the company after attending the event!
