The DOT's 10 winning drone pilot projects
From CNBC.com:
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/09/alph...-bypassed.html
Of interest:
"Memphis Airport Authority Chief Executive Scott Brockman told Reuters that it had also been picked and that its partner FedEx will use drones to inspect aircraft at its hub in Tennessee as well as parts deliveries for aircraft and some package deliveries between the airport and other Memphis locations."
However, the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority says the following in their press release (http://www.flymemphis.com/NewsDetails?newsid=4237)
"Airspaces 2 and 3: FedEx will operate UAS to inspect aircrafts, asset tracking, facility security and emergency response. FedEx will also utilize UAS to deliver small aircraft parts on a defined path in the north ramp area. UAS will not operate over any person other than authorized personnel during walk-around and inspections and BVLOS for the other use cases."

Upon further review it looks as if the CNBC article is a bit misleading.
In that article, it states: "Memphis Airport Authority Chief Executive Scott Brockman told Reuters that it had also been picked and that its partner FedEx will use drones to inspect aircraft at its hub in Tennessee as well as parts deliveries for aircraft and some package deliveries between the airport and other Memphis locations."
But in the M-SCAA release the Authority separates FedEx from the package deliveries between the airport and other Memphis locations. Specifically, it states, Fedex will use the UASs over the ramp and in other areas (Shelby Farms and Liberty Bowl) UASs will deliver medical supplies.
