Reference the first post in this thread, where can I "read the the latest settlement regarding retirement and vacation payout"??? I'm thinking this refers to Grievance 17-02. Thanks in advance.

Do you not receive ALPA e-mails?

Positive Rate Weekly, 9/4/18, begins with a description of the settlement.
"There is significant value in this settlement."

Unless you're talking about currently employed pilots, in which case there is no value except to expose the true character of our employer.

By the way, it was asked...:

"Would you be open to the Negotiating Committee presenting the Variable Benefit Plan, as it has been designed in the Retirement Income Replacement Modeler, to FedEx Management for negotiations?"

Well, I still don’t remember the question being asked, but I know for sure that it would have been a “hell no.” I did the online survey and gave them my opinion.

Sounds like it was a clear cut question. Wonder what the percentage of votes were for moving forward? Why not just send out a ballot since it’s such a huge part of our compensation package?

Yeah, my value was zero.

What was the value for the company? Let's not bother sharing that. And while we're at it, let's not bother calculating how much the new Variable Benefit plan will save the company.

Not any longer, Tony--I retired 12/31/17. I checked the grievances on the website, but there was nothing new there. I'll see if I can get access to the Positive Rate Weekly. Thanks much.

Just read the Positive Rate. Fully agree with the statement that there is zero value for everyone who will retire after this year. The company is saying "we're not going to go back to the way we did it prior to 2016, so deal with it." Nice.

Good luck on your efforts to turn back what appears to me to be a completely misguided effort by the union regarding the VB thing.

Congratulations on your retirement! After giving so much of yourself to The Company in terms of making it work every night and day, missing all those holidays and special days, and agreeing to give Fred "One More Peak," I'm sure you felt the slap in the face when your exit was rewarded with a "nickel and dime" cheap shot at the benefits you expected to receive. I'm glad I didn't flame on you for not reading the Positive Rate, and I'm glad you will receive an "individualized monetary remedy."

While I'm at it, I should note, in the interest of fairness and accuracy, there is value in this settlement for those pilots still employed who have announced they'll work "One More Peak" this year.

Beyond that, the rest of us have just become bargaining chips for future negotiations. Let's not be mean to The Company yet. If we're nice, they may decide to pay out vacation and disability sick accounts on January 1st for another year, if we behave.

From the on-line survey around question 24:

" Would you be open to the Negotiating Committee presenting the Variable Benefit Plan, as it has been designed in the Retirement Income Replacement Modeler, to FedEx Management for negotiations?"

Please forgive me, keeper of facts!! I honestly don’t remember that question. Thankfully at least I know I’d have answered absolutely no!
Since you have the privilege of having the survey questions at your disposal can you tell me what question number 1 was? (I’ll give you a hint!)
Why in a survey about the VB would they ask a generic question at number 1, and bury the question specifically related to the VB at 24?

Hmm,
686*313=214,718
686*270=185,220
686*222=152,292
686*195=133,770

I have no idea why anyone would consider anything different.
