Default Immunizations

I was looking at the contract and it says the company will pay for immunizations that they require; however, they don't seem to require any! Wondering what kind of immunizations our international folks get and does the company/insurance pay for them? CDC warns travelers of Japanese Encephalitis ("West Nile virus of Asia") but haven't heard anyone getting the vaccine. https://www.cdc.gov/japaneseencephal...aps/index.html

My parents got the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine prior to an extensive Asia vacation a few years ago.

I was supposed to get it when on active duty (prior to a deployment) but the Air Force did not stock it, and the local university hospital (travel medicine department) would not take Tricare, so it was going to be a billing nightmare.

I did not get it in the end. I remember it was relatively expensive.

If you travel around Asia a lot I would get it, especially if you can get the company to pay for it. It is a nasty disease.

Most of us and our families that lived in Subic got the Japanese Encephalitis immunization. Company paid for it.
also every Airline pilot should get a Hep A.

Look at PFC > Resources > General > Medical > Immunizations

It explains how much and which immunizations the company will pay.

Thank you for posting this!!!! The PFC website gave me "No Results" when I searched for Immunizations in both VIPs and in PFC.
