For the seats, or small bases, that aren't as fat...almost guarantee Draft is being offered\accepted.
When CRS is down to a few Reserve pilots, and the weather sucks or there's a broke airplane in the field, they'd rather Draft somebody early versus trying to find someone at 0300
So, does the company follow (and ALPA enforce) CBA 25.O.1? Does this mean that only local Memphis pilots are "available" for trips in MEM?

So are you saying CRS called you directly for a draft trip? Instead of placing the trip in open time for AVA like the Dec FCIF said AVA "may" be available for peak??? (If you declined, as you said you did, good on you, and thank you.)

Aside from the Wolfpack and people with bots, OTP and other 'screw-your-buddy' cheating swaps, does anyone else see problems with this?

Field draft means the Trip has already departed and CRS is trying to find someone in the Field to have the next flight depart on time.

Pairing is built with a notional DH to the Field location

Called by CRS several times the week after Thanksgiving. I’m not a pack or bot or anything else you were mentioning. However I live in Memphis. Accepted draft one of the times for airport standby. Wasn’t aware there was anything wrong with this? Company had a need so I helped out. The 150% pay made it worth the trouble.

I grew up in Mem but what I love about Fedex is I don’t have to live there anymore. Crew Scheduling didn’t call during Thanksgiving and I walked out on the Beach and do that pretty much everyday I am off.

And that’s why FedEx is an awesome place to work. Live on the beach if you want. Pretty nice option to have!

I don't think there are enough specifics to have a problem with it.
I obviously can't say for sure, but if the schedulers are calling to fill a trip that usually means it's inside of the 0900 day prior window. They would fill it with a reserve if they could, but they can't so they draft.
In the person's post to which you responded, he said it was field draft which by definition means it's a short notice scramble to get a body to an out station. Either way, AVA is not even a possibility.

Finally, there aren't any restrictions that I'm aware of on accepting a draft trip this month? Do you have conflicting information? Or are you implying that IF a scheduler calls to draft for a trip that is far enough from departure time that it could be requested AVA that everyone should decline? Hard to believe that's happening considering most seats are fat on reserves. Why would they start calling if they have time to wait for an AVA or the boneheads who do it at straight time via M/U?

If a DH is required to fill a trip, I wonder is CRS calls people who live in a DL/UA/WN hub and can quickly jump on a DH to the required location.

As far as CRS waiting to fill OT, I see the masses waiting and salivating for "ding, ding, ding" on their iPhones. I would assume CRS receives numerous requests within seconds of releasing OT trips.

I know there are all kinds of situations. No reason to turn down draft right now. My point is, trips need to be filled. We were lead to believe AVA may be turned on. But it isn't. Not being hostile or argumentative, just some things to note.

I did live in Memphis... and when the lame "manning allocation" chart was full of red boxes, yes I was called a handful of times. But most had a show time way more than 24 hours. Since moving away, zero calls for draft. NO, I do not pick up OT with MU.

Just as a curiosity, why is it frowned upon by some, to pick up an open trip with hours from your makeup bank, which were contractually placed there with straight time?

The only people who have a problem with it are those who think their 150% is more important than your 100% out of your m/u bank.

Staffing seems good in most seats. No issue grabbing it out of m/u bank.
