Default IND Base growth?

From sorting through the different threads it looks like IND is a small 767 base with under a 100 pilots. My question is with all the 767’s coming, is IND set to grow substantially or stay small?

Honestly, I think the operation in IND is poised for growth but anyone commenting on the size of the crew base is just guessing at this point. A larger crew base seems logical but there hasn’t been any official announcements and we only see a system bid once every 12-18 months.

Growth of the base will very likely come with the Hub/Facility Expansion. Give it a few years.

They can't expand the domicile until the new ops building is complete. Indy based crews don't get assigned to a hotel between hub turns so sleep rooms have to be available. When the new ops building is complete the sleep rooms will be available to expand the domicile. Blue prints were on display in Indy last night. Ramp spaces and new additional sort building are being built right now. Indy will grow as a hub and domicile, but it will be awhile.

They were shooting for fall 2020 for the new flight ops building to be completed for peak. May be a little backed up, Comlux needs to empty a building close by before they demolish. Maybe pilot base growth early 2021? Hard to tell.

Or the new Flt Ops and extra sleep rooms can be used to keep Memphis based crews from being assigned a hub turn hotel. Increased sort and sleep room capacity does not necessarily mean a larger pilot base.
